It is the attitude of gratitude that keeps us flying in this kingdom. We ought to always take a stand, pause a little and look back at what God has done in our lives: He bore our sicknesses on the cross, the pain and suffering.

Matthew 8:17 that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying: “He Himself took our infirmities And bore our sicknesses.”

Galatians 6:14 But God forbid that I should boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.

The cross is the only thing we should boost of because had it not been for Calvary, we would not be on earth.

However, one of the most difficult things to sustain in our walk with God is the reverence and honor that comes in relation to what Jesus did for us at Calvary.

No matter how frequently we see the miracles, deliverances, and healing, we should neither get used to the things that God is doing in our lives nor arrive at a place where we say, “I have seen that”, “I am used to that” etc. We must sustain that reverence and honor for God and the things He has done and He is still doing in our lives.

Zechariah 4:10 For who has despised the day of small things?…

The reason why many people are stuck and have failed to move to the next level is because of the spirit of ingratitude. You may not speak it out but you can always tell when your heart is positioned in that state whereby if something (a testimony) doesn’t appear big to you, it is normal.

Isaiah 28:10 For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept, Line upon line, line upon line, Here a little, there a little.”

Despising the little is a setup for stagnation and backsliding. If we do not learn the principle and keep upon it, we shall always stay at the same level not because of anything but because of familiarity which brings ingratitude and denies access to more of the things of God.

We should not disregard what God is doing in our lives in our pursuit to see mightier things being manifested among us.

Colossians 4:2 Be earnest and unwearied and steadfast in your prayer [life], being [both] alert and intent in [your praying] with thanksgiving. (AMP)

Thank God for what He has accomplished and from where He has brought you in addition to your seeking because any prayer that is not mixed with thanksgiving becomes a whirl experience.

Where you are today is someone’s prayer request. Look around and be grateful for what God has done for you: that is the only way He will glorify you (Job 8:7, Isaiah 60:22).

2 Timothy 3:1-2 But know this, that in the last days, perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, UNTHANKFUL, unholy,

Ingratitude was the reason why the children of Israel died in the wilderness. They trivialized everything that God gave them: They cried to God to take them out of bondage and as He was taking them through the process to get to the promised land, they began to despise what He had done for them earlier which led to their perishing (Exodus 17:2-4, Numbers 16:12-14).

May the Holy Spirit help us to look back, count our blessings, and appreciate the things that God has done for us so that we shall be able to receive more.
