YOUR WORKS COUNT

Aug 11, 2023

Matthew 7:16 You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles?

When you give your life to Christ and become born again, you are expected to bear fruits. It is that fruit that bears the testimony of what you have received because we do not get saved by works but by grace.

James 2:18 But someone will say, “You have faith, and I have works.” Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works.

What is expected of a believer is that when you have come into Christ, your life must begin to be saturated with Him so that we begin to see the likeness of Christ in your character and behavior.

Your works do not count when you are outside the kingdom but the moment you enter into this kingdom, works do count.

Works attract a reward from heaven. So, as we walk with God in this journey of faith, we must pay attention to the way we live. (1 Corinthians 3:13-15)

2 Corinthians 5:7 For we walk by faith, not by sight.

When we are saved, there is what we call a standing (judicial) position: that place where you stand by faith, walk and live a life that manifests Christ.

If the life of God that you have received is not affecting your thinking, behavior or mannerisms, then we will begin to question whether the salvation was real or not (2 Corinthians 6:1).

For this reason, the Holy Spirit will continually wrestle with a believer because the life you have received must work itself into every fibre of your being.

Galatians 5:9 A little leaven leavens the whole lump.

The life of God is dynamic and so impactful, that you cannot say that you have received Jesus as your Lord and Saviour while things stay as they have always been. You must let that grace that you received when you confessed work in your life.

Galatians 6:7 Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.

Remember that your words and actions are seeds; when you plant the wrong seed, you get the wrong harvest and the reverse is true; you cannot plant beans and harvest maize.

That is why we need to pay attention to our activities, words and actions because they count in this kingdom.

Matthew 12:37 For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.”

Don’t play with words because they have a harvest attached to them and carry weight in the spirit (Numbers 14:28).

Therefore, we should not live carelessly by taking what we have received for granted but let it start to restrain our actions (2 Corinthians 5:14).

Matthew 5:13-14 “You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men. “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.

Your relevance is in your saltiness; you cannot afford to live the way you want because the moment there is no distinction between you and a non-believer, you have lost your relevance to the kingdom.

Let that saltiness season your workplace and your light shine before men so that men will start to glorify God because of your good works.

STAY BLESSED AND HIGHLY FAVORED, WE LOVE YOU.
