YIELDING TO THE HOLY SPIRIT- THE KEY TO BETTER THINGS

Jan 7, 2024

DAY SEVEN OF FASTING

Psalm 37:23 The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD, And He delights in his way.

We are human beings and most of the decisions and choices we make are based on what we know; only God knows the future and when He wants to help us, He steps in.

We are not our own and with all the plans and intelligence we have, God has better plans than we do. Therefore, the best thing we can do while walking with the Holy Spirit is to learn to surrender to the Lord daily because He doesn’t have a plan but plans that will help you to arrive at the future you are hoping for. Jeremiah 29:11 GNT

Romans 8:25 (GNT) [25] But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience. [26] In the same way the Spirit also comes to help us, weak as we are. For we do not know how we ought to pray; the Spirit himself pleads with God for us in groans that words cannot express.

The Holy Spirit is in us to help us. In the Old Testament, men made excuses because what God told them to do was beyond their ability. The command came but it was broken on the first day which is proof to us that no man can be able to obey on their own unless they lean on God to help them do what God commanded them.

In the New Testament, we enter into the economy of God’s grace by the entry of the Holy Spirit into our lives; such that He who commanded lives in us to help us do what He commanded.

That is why your relationship with the Holy Spirit is key to fulfilling the life that God ordained for you.

We are weak men; that is why God came to live inside us by the person of the Holy Spirit to help us be the best mothers, fathers, employees, etc. Our winning and success is therefore tied to how we relate with Him.

Romans 8:27 GNT And God, who sees into our hearts, knows what the thought of the Spirit is; because the Spirit pleads with God on behalf of his people and in accordance with his will.

Praying in the spirit is the key to walking in God’s will because whenever we engage in heartfelt prayer in the spirit, its influence begins to take over our lives and our lives start taking on the direction of the Spirit.

I’m believing God that everything you do this year will become better because of your greater level of submission to the Holy Spirit. Remember, everything that the Holy Spirit does is in the will of God.

What is the will of God?

An example is Elisha in, 1 Kings 19:19-20, he was a commercial farmer and as he was busy tilling the ground, the mantle fell on him. Elisha wasn’t thirsty for the mantle but destiny and purpose located him. He accepted the call.

God alone has plans for you and no matter what satan plans, God can use all paths to lead you to your destiny; all you need to do is to yield to Him.

Ephesians 2:10 (GNT)

That is why the Bible says; “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.” 1 Corinthians 2:9.

God’s plans are the best; may God give us the grace to follow His plans because that is where fulfilment is found.

1 Corinthians 2:10-12 [10] But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God. [11] For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God.

[12] Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God.

We have been given the spirit that we might know the things that have been freely given to us; the Holy Spirit is the one responsible for unveiling them in our lives. That is why it is important to pray in the spirit.

Purpose is the reason for our creation and God defines it. Therefore, to find our purpose, we must ask the Lord why we are here.

We are not here to be doctors, lawyers, etc. but God uses those paths to bring us closer to our purpose and destiny.

Hebrews 13:20-21 (GNT) God has raised from death our Lord Jesus, who is the Great Shepherd of the sheep as the result of his blood, by which the eternal covenant is sealed. May the God of peace provide you with every good thing you need in order to do his will, and may he, through Jesus Christ, do in us what pleases him. And to Christ be the glory forever and ever! Amen.

Don’t be afraid of God’s will because that is where you will find every good thing that you need. That is why you shouldn’t be afraid of God’s will. Embrace God’s plan for your life because outside your purpose (God’s will), you cannot be successful.

Sometimes you will have to walk away from your plans to fulfill God’s purpose like Mary but you should know that God’s supply only comes to us when we are in His will (Deuteronomy 6:11).

Mary and Joseph received what they had never seen (gold, myrrh, etc.) when Jesus was born. May God amaze you this year as you yield to Him and may “I am your servant, let it be done according to your will” be your daily prayer (Luke 1:38).

STAY BLESSED AND HIGHLY FAVORED, WE LOVE YOU.
