Psalms 51:17 The sacrifices of God [are] a broken spirit, A broken and a contrite heart— These, O God, You will not despise.

A life of humility, brokenness and contrition of Spirit is what attracts the help of God in your lives.

We do not pray, fast or seek God to keep a calendar for performing religious spiritual activities but to tell Him that we are not sufficient and our dependence is on Him. He is our help, strength and wisdom.

The biggest danger for my brothers and sisters is being overconfident. Self-confidence is when you allow the experience of yesterday to dictate your today but sooner or later, you will become history.

Joshua 3:4 Yet there shall be a space between you and it, about two thousand cubits by measure. Do not come near it, that you may know the way by which you must go, for you have not passed [this] way before.”

Church, we have not been to where God wants to take us. No amount of acquired experience or knowledge is sufficient enough to lead us but only the presence of God.

Read Exodus 13:20-22

Moses used to keep his father-in-law’s sheep in the wilderness and was well acquainted with it. However, with all the experience he had, he still had to rely on the pillar of cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night to guide and lead the nation of Israel through the wilderness.

This is what God wants you and I to learn; to always check with the Holy Spirit, no matter how much you know or how confident you are about yourself. That is what we call a life that is yielded to the leading of the Spirit.

2 Samuel 2:1 It happened after this that David inquired of the LORD, saying, “Shall I go up to any of the cities of Judah?” And the LORD said to him, “Go up.” David said, “Where shall I go up?” And He said, “To Hebron.”

The reason why David never did anything outside of God, is because he knew that his success was from God and not because of his strength or wisdom.

May these experiences cease to be mere words or sermons but become our day-to-day experiences where we throw ourselves into the arms of God and tell Him to guide and lead us.

Exodus 16:4, 19-20 [4] Then the LORD said to Moses, “Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you. And the people shall go out and gather a certain quota every day, that I may test them, whether they will walk in My law or not.[19-20] And Moses said, “Let no one leave any of it till morning.” Notwithstanding they did not heed Moses. But some of them left part of it until morning, and it bred worms and stank. And Moses was angry with them.

The Lord told the Israelites to pick fresh mana every morning but some of them stubbornly kept it and it turned into worms.

I pray that your miracle won’t turn into worms. Do not let your yesterday become a stumbling block towards what God wants to do with you today. Stay in that place of desiring Him, by telling Him; “what I am and have is not enough, show me, lead and instruct me. I receive the grace to walk by your leading.” (Zechariah 4:6)

John 15:1, 5 [1] “I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. [5] “I am the vine, you [are] the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me, you can do nothing.

May this scripture stir up something fresh in your heart to seek and look to God. It’s not about our building or watching but it’s all about yielding to the Holy Spirit. (Psalms 127:1)
