WISDOM FOR LIVING

Jun 9, 2025

God is a God of times and seasons, and He has arranged everything to happen in its season. This is why, much as Jesus was slain before the foundations of the earth, He was manifested many years later.

Many times, we get frustrated because we want to happen outside our time, forgetting that God is a King. We don’t command Him, but rather obey Him and synchronize with His timing. Our impact and productivity are hinged on knowing His timing.

Ephesians 5:15-16 [15] See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, [16] redeeming the time, because the days are evil.

Paul was not addressing non-believers, but believers, meaning that some believers are walking as fools.

We are living in evil times; we, therefore, not only need the ordinary wisdom that we have acquired from school, but divine wisdom, which is responsible for understanding the times and seasons.

Exodus 12:40

The children of Israel were held in bondage for thirty years more in addition to the four hundred years because they did not understand the times and seasons. Even when they cried to God, He sent Moses to deliver them, but he stepped out before his time, which caused him frustration and pain.

If you want to avoid a life of pain and frustration, be in sync with God because He can only bless you when you are in your place and time of assignment.

Ecclesiastes 10:10 If the iron be blunt, and he do not whet the edge, then must he put to more strength: but wisdom is profitable to direct. (KJV)

Sometimes, we waste too much time, not because we are blind, but because the weapon we are using is blunt. When you put too much energy and the results are little, then you know that you need wisdom as far as directing your life is concerned.

Jesus waited until He was thirty to begin ministry and within three and a half years, He was done. Things will only be easy for you when you happen in your time because God ensures that everything you need to fulfill destiny is brought close to you.

1 Kings 3:6-9

The manifestation of the Spirit of discernment is what governs the times and seasons.

Life is too brief for us to live by trial and error. This can only be avoided when we follow the leading of the Holy Spirit, just like Jesus did: He depended on the Holy Spirit to know what to do. (John 5:19)

God has already prepared for us, and all we need is the spirit of revelation, knowledge, and wisdom of His will. (Ephesians 2:10, Colossians 1:9-10)

Deuteronomy 34:9 Now Joshua the son of Nun was full of the spirit of wisdom, for Moses had laid his hands on him;…

Joshua was already a warrior, but he only lacked wisdom. Before Moses died, he prayed for him.

May God fill us with divine wisdom so that we may discern the times and seasons and know what to do, when to do it, and how to do it.
