1 Corinthians 12:12 For as the body is one and has many members, but all the members of that one body, being many, are one body, so also is Christ.
Ephesians 4:16 from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love.
We are all members of one another; if one member is blessed, the whole body is blessed, and if one is hurting, the whole body hurts because we are connected in Christ Jesus.
We become disconnected when one member stops feeling what others feel. Many of us have become so detached from the ‘body’ that we no longer share in one another’s joys or burdens, yet God’s blessing is for the body, not for selfish individuals.
Our greatest enemy is not the devil but ‘self’—we become so engrossed in ourselves that we forget God never participates in projects that only benefit one person but the whole ‘body’. He involves Himself in works that touch lives and transform generations, because He is the God of generations.
God does not bless us for selfish gain. His blessings are meant to flow through us to others; to families, communities, and generations. The examples of Joseph, Isaac, and Moses remind us that God raises people not for selfish ambitions, but to be a blessing to others.
Why do you want God to bless you? If your mind is only about ‘self’, then it will take a while before God blesses you. We need to live in consciousness that we are members of the body, and we have something that we must give to the body. That mindset will quicken your breakthrough in life.
Prayer: Holy Spirit, please help me to be ‘body’ conscious. Bless me such that I may be a blessing to the body. Amen!
