WALK IN LOVE 2

Feb 16, 2026

The Christian walk is governed, guided, and compelled by love. Human love has limitations and can never sustain anything in this life. That is why God comes and introduces us to the God-kind of love; Agape—the love that never fails.

John 13:34-35 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. 35 By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”

Jesus is the revelation of God’s manifested love; when you see Jesus, it is God’s love in action. Everything that He does is because He is love. That is why He tells us to love one another as He has loved us.

This is the God-kind of love which is unbiased— it is pure, sacrificial and constant even when it is not reciprocated. It loves because it is love. Unlike human love, which is conditional, it is emotional and often self-seeking.

We often fall short because we operate from human love. That is why Jesus introduces divine love—the love that never fails. This Love is the proof that we are His true disciples because it is the fruit of the Holy Spirit. It is evidence of transformation, giving substance to our faith and authority to our words.

1Thessalonians 4.9 But concerning brotherly love you have no need that I should write to you, for you yourselves are taught by God to love one another;

In the Old Testament, God wrote His laws on tablets of stone. Today, He has inscribed them in our hearts and minds, and the Holy Spirit—the Spirit of love—lives within us. If we stay in fellowship with Him, He teaches us how to love beyond our natural ability. We are not trying to manufacture love; we are allowing His love to flow through us.

The Bible tells us that God demonstrates His own love toward us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us (Romans 5:8). This means there is nothing we shall ever do that will change His love for us— His love for us is constant. All we need to do is to love Him back because He first loved us, and love our fellow brethren as He has loved us.

2 Corinthians 13:5 Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Do you not know yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?- unless indeed you are disqualified.

Being in faith means being in the Kingdom lifestyle, that is, walking in love. We ought to examine ourselves whether we are still governed by the Kingdom lifestyle if we are to be entrusted with power, anointing and resources by God.

The law of love is what governs the Kingdom of God; it is what governs every activity and service, including our obedience.

Not all obedience is true before the Lord. Some people obey because they fear the consequences and punishment of not obeying. But the only obedience that God salutes is the one that is inspired and flows from the place of love.

Therefore, how much of God’s love controls you determines how much He can entrust to you. The purity of power, service, and ministry is found in love. It must be the foundation and the compelling force behind everything we do. (1 Corinthians 13:1-2)
