Patience is not only the ability to wait but how you behave while you are waiting.

*Hebrews 10:36  For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise. (KJV)*

Patience is one of the greatest virtues that you need to have if you are going to be a blessing, mentor people, or be something in life.

Many people have aborted destinies  because of greed and lack of patience (failure to wait) yet each one of us has a different season *(Ecclesiastes 3:1).*

*Hebrews 6:10-12 For God is not unjust to forget your work and labor of love which you have shown toward His name, in that you have ministered to the saints, and do minister. And we desire that each one of you show the same diligence to the full assurance of hope until the end, that you do not become sluggish, but imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.*

There are processes we go through to enter into the promises of God which help us to build spiritual muscle. That’s why God makes us go through seasons of waiting because there are things He must install in us to enter into these promises.

The proof of life is growth but the proof of maturity is fruit (patience). You can therefore walk into the promises of God

for your life if you do not develop the virtue of patience.

*Luke 21:16-19 You will be betrayed even by parents and brothers, relatives and friends; and they will put some of you to death. And you will be hated by all for My name’s sake. But not a hair of your head shall be lost. By your patience possess your souls.*

Betrayal and hatred will happen to you no matter how much you pray or fast but God has arranged them to happen so that He may instill patience in you not because of where you are now but where you are going.

*Luke 8:11-15 “Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God. Now the ones that fell among thorns are those who,

when they have heard, go out and are choked with cares, riches, and pleasures of life, and bring no fruit to maturity. But the ones that fell on the good ground are those who, having heard the word with a noble and good heart, keep it and bear fruit with patience.*

All the Cares, riches, and pleasures of life are what disturb many people. Most people are in debt because they want to live a life they can not sustain hence living in competition/ahead of their time.

That’s why many are involved in sinful activities like homosexuality, corruption, etc because they want to live a luxurious life not knowing they have sold their birthrights like Esau *(Hebrews 12:16-17).*

*2 Samuel 5:4 David was thirty years old

when he began to reign, and he reigned forty years.*

It takes patience to walk into destinies. Even though David had been anointed by Samuel as a king at the age of seventeen, it took him thirteen years of waiting to sit on the throne *(1 Samuel 16:13).*

*Psalms 40:1-3 I waited patiently for the Lord; And He inclined to me, And heard my cry. He also brought me up out of a horrible pit, Out of the miry clay, And set my feet upon a rock, And established my steps. He has put a new song in my mouth— Praise to our God; Many will see it and be ar, And will trust in the Lord.*

*2Kings 5:21-27* Gehazi was supposed to be the next Elijah but he aborted destiny

because of timing.

Don’t abort destiny. Be patient and wait because your time is coming.
