Every encounter you have with God must take something out of you and impart something into you.

There must be a place in your heart where God’s word finds a dwelling place.

John 8:31 [31]Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed.

Jesus was speaking to believers and not non-believers. He meant that there are believers who are not His disciples.

To be spiritual is to be governed by the Word and the Holy Spirit. That is why we must labour to subject our bodies to the Word and the Holy Spirit.

John 8:32 And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

There are deliverances that take place in a believer’s life as a result of abiding in the Word.

God sends His word every time He wants to do something. Therefore, being saturated with the word of God creates a hostile environment for demons to stay. (Matthew 12:45).

What brings truth to your life is the continuity of the word. The revealed truth then brings about a transformation that will cause you to move from glory to glory (2 Corinthians 3:18).

2 Timothy 3:7 Always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

It is very dangerous to be exposed to the truth and not apply it in your life. Many people quote the word but their hearts are hardened because they didn’t allow the word to work in them.

Faith means obeying the word of God; it is very dangerous for us to continue learning without applying.

Luke 13:6-7 [6]He also spoke this parable: “A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard, and he came seeking fruit on it and found none. [7]Then he said to the keeper of his vineyard, ‘Look, for three years I have come seeking fruit on this fig tree and find none. Cut it down; why does it use up the ground?’

Fruits are an expression of the Holy Spirit in a believer’s life. Therefore, you must bear fruits (results) after the first three years of salvation for the purpose of every tree is to bear fruits but if you insist on not bearing fruit, you will be cut off.

Matthew 21:19 And seeing a fig tree by the road, He came to it and found nothing on it but leaves, and said to it, “Let no fruit grow on you ever again.” Immediately the fig tree withered away.

God is looking for fruits, not shade when He checks on you. The only way to bear fruits or grow spiritually is when you are rooted in the Word.

John 8:33-34, 37 [33]They answered Him, “We are Abraham’s descendants, and have never been in bondage to anyone. How can You say, ‘You will be made free’?” [34]Jesus answered them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, whoever commits sin is a slave of sin. [37]“I know that you are Abraham’s descendants, but you seek to kill Me because My word has no place in you.

Jesus was telling the Jews that there are disciples that need help. You must give room to the word because that is the platform for transformation.

We are co-labourers with God: we participate in our liberty and deliverance with Him. (1 Corinthians 3:9).

God changes us through His word. Therefore, if you are serious about your fellowship life, you will take time to read, meditate and apply the word (John 6:63).

John 17:17 Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth.

Proverbs 13:20 He who walks with wise men will be wise…

When you spend time in the Word, your mind blends with the Word of God, and when God’s Word enters your life, you will carry His presence wherever you go.
