THE RACE OF ENDURANCE

Apr 22, 2024

Hebrews 12:1-2 [1] Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, [2] looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

In this journey of faith, there are seasons when your dream seems dead and there is no progress. During such, we endure the cross and despise every shame; For it is at the cross that we surrender and say, ” Not my will, but Yours be done”.

Genesis 15:2

Even Abraham, the father of faith was childless and thought Eliezer of Damascus was to be his heir. God had done everything for him except giving him a child whom he desired most.

Just like Abraham, have you ever been in a situation where God has given you everything except that one thing you desire most?

The journey of faith can sometimes be challenging but God demands you to walk it as an individual, hearing the voices of the cloud of witnesses surrounding and cheering you on to endure the cross. They went through pain, shame, and the cross but overcame.

Hebrews 4:14 Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession.

If He, the author and finisher of our faith endured the cross and despised its shame, you too will. Nothing you are going through that He did not endure.

Walking in faith doesn’t mean that challenges will not come; they will but faith helps you to go through them.

Isaiah 43:2 When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, Nor shall the flame scorch you.

The only way to go through the “waters and fire” is by being God-conscious; knowing that you are not alone.

Genesis 37:26- 36

Joseph was traded to Egypt because of destiny; he worked as a houseboy in the house of Potiphar but God was with him until he became the Prime minister.

Genesis 39:2

Know that God is with you, and whatever you are going through is a step to your next level because God is using everything to work out for your good.

Do not worry because joy is coming; keep looking to Jesus and listening to the cloud of witnesses cheering you on; “If I made it, you too will make it.”

STAY BLESSED AND HIGHLY FAVORED, WE LOVE YOU.
