Revelation 2:4 Nevertheless, I have this against you, that you have left your first love.
As much as the Lord knew the works of the church of Ephesus, He had a challenge with them; they had left the place of their first love.
While we go through the motions of ministering to God like the six hours of prayer we currently have, may we not go through them and fail to achieve the goal? Let us check the attitude of our hearts towards God and the things of God, that we may draw to Him with a sincere heart. (Hebrews 10:22)
John 14:15 “If you love Me, keep My commandments.
The proof of our love towards God is rated by the degree of our obedience to His written Word and His daily instructions to us. This is how it is in the Kingdom of God, than it is with men, where love is often attached to feelings/emotions.
In Genesis 22:1-9, the Lord told Abraham to give his son, Isaac, to Him, and Abraham did not hesitate. However, as he raised his hand to sacrifice the boy, an angel appeared and said, “Abraham, now I know that you fear God.”
The fear of God is how obedient you are to the voice of the Spirit in your heart. How obedient and quick are you in responding to the written Word or the speakings of the Spirit? Are you holding onto things that you know the Holy Spirit does not approve of? Are you carrying anger, jealousy, envy, the lust of the flesh, etc.?
Let us check our hearts and be honest before the Master. He will help us if we ask Him. If you are living a life contrary to the written Word of God, it is time to let it go, as your proof of your love towards God is in obedience, not in power or words.
In this season, if we walk in disobedience, it makes our prayer and seeking the Lord more of a joke. This nation must see Jesus, and it begins with you.
