Romans 8:19 For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God. (KJV)
When the first Adam fell, he declared independence from God, which subjected creation to bondage and resulted in the loss of man’s glory. It’s from this day that rebellion began, and the only way restoration could come was through the manifestation of the second Adam, in the person of Jesus. (1 John 3:8)
Creation can only be put back where it’s supposed to be when we, the sons of God, take up our positions. That’s why Paul admonishes us to walk as children of light because this is the answer to every question, evén darkness. (Matthew 5:13, Ephesians 5:8)
1 Corinthians 12:13 For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free—and have all been made to drink into one Spirit.
The manifestation of our sonship as sons of God calls us to a place of dying to selfish ambitions and embracing that which is of God because God doesn’t involve Himself in selfish projects. We must fight the “I” if we ever want God involved in anything we do.
We should also bear in mind that God delights in dealing with generations. Throughout Scripture, the patriarchs and matriarchs of faith looked beyond themselves to serve their generation, a key factor in attracting heaven’s backing. (Matthew 22:32)
God’s greatest manifestation of power is through the collective body, not individual prominence. When the entire body is blessed, each member benefits.
1 Chronicles 4:10 And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, “Oh, that You would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory, that Your hand would be with me, and that You would keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain!” So God granted him what he requested.
Jabez cried out to God to become a blessing, as he was tired of being a problem wherever he went, and God surely blessed him.
Why do you want God to bless you? Is it for you, or is it beyond you?
All the fasting, praying, giving and any other spiritual activities you engage in will make more sense when we become body-minded. May God help us and align our hearts to look beyond ourselves in all that we do.
