2 Corinthians 5.17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

Like in the natural world where we are born as babies and go through the natural process to grow; so is the spiritual world.

Natural babies need mothers to nurture them to grow, so do spiritual babes need parents to nurture them to grow spiritually.

We must have people in our lives to nurture us because there is a need for spiritual growth until we have attained full stature in Christ (Ephesians 4:11-12).

Ephesians 4.15 – but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head–Christ–

Spiritual growth is inevitable because there comes a time when there is a need to put away the childish things (1 Corinthians 13:11).

Many people back off (back slid) thinking they were better off before getting saved because they haven’t fully grown up to stature in Christ.

Hebrews 10.38 – Now the just shall live by faith; But if anyone draws back, My soul has no pleasure in him.”

Days of adversity will come and we will all be confronted with challenges at one time but the seal that raises us above them is faith. God doesn’t pleasure in anyone drawing back; what pleases Him is faith (Proverbs 24:10, Hebrews 11:6).

Faith is one thing that we shall carry on because it never dies. That is why we need to hold onto it because it is the backbone of Christianity; therefore the need to grow in it is inevitable.

How do we grow our faith?

Acts 6:1-4, 7

The disciples were able to multiply because their faith had been lifted through PRAYER and the WORD.

Acts 6:5-12, 7:51-60

Stephen did great signs and wonders because he was a man full of faith; even when he was confronted with challenges, the people disputing with him were not able to resist the wisdom and spirit by which he spoke because of the faith that he had.

Luke 22:40-43

Jesus at one time felt intimidated by the challenges that He was going to face but when He knelt and prayed, He received faith and was energized to face the challenge.

Matthew 17.15-21 [21] However, this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting.”

We need to grow our faith through prayer and fasting to be able to counteract the challenges that we are confronted with. (Jude 1:20).

Romans 10.17 – So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the WORD OF GOD.

Acts.20.32 – “So now, brethren, I commend you to God and to the WORD OF HIS GRACE, which is able to build you up and give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified.

You need the Word of God to be able to grow in faith because it is through faith that we can grow and walk into our inheritances: the things pertaining life and Godliness that we inherited in Jesus (1 Peter 2:2, Joshua 1:8, Psalms 1:1-3).

How do we guard the faith that we have received?

We often get leakages in our faith as we interact with other people; that is why admonishing comes in such that we guard our hearts such that we do not lose our faith because feeding with other things other than the Word of God attracts unbelief which later results in fear.

Proverbs 4.22-25 [22] For they are life to those who find them, And health to all their flesh. [23] Keep your heart with all diligence, For out of it spring the issues of life.[24] Put away from you a deceitful mouth, And put perverse lips far from you. [25] Let your eyes look straight ahead, And your eyelids look right before you.

There is a race that you are running and a prophecy that you have received that has not yet manifested, set your eyes on that. Otherwise, wrong information will cause leakages in your faith.
