Prayer is the system that God has instituted in this kingdom from which every spiritual activity must spring forth.

Hebrews 4:16 Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

Two things can make a man defy all odds and become a wonder: mercy and grace. That is what God releases when He smiles on a man.

Unfortunately, many of us have not taken maximum advantage of God’s goodness (His mercy and grace) through this prayer system.

Romans 10:12 For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him.

Everything happening in your life is tied to your calling.

Some men called on God in the Bible and He changed their situations.

  1. DAVID

1 Samuel 22:2 And everyone who was in distress, everyone who was in debt, and everyone who was discontented gathered to him. So he became captain over them. And there were about four hundred men with him.

David became chief of people with problems. He trained them but they later planned to kill him (1 Samuel 30:4,6).

That is why the Bible says;

“Cursed is the man who trusts in man And makes flesh his strength, Whose heart departs from the Lord. Jeremiah 17:5

There is a place whereby your pastor, husband, wife, etc can not help. That is why you need to learn to call on God.

Genesis 30:1-2 Now when Rachel saw that she bore Jacob no children, Rachel envied her sister, and said to Jacob, “Give me children, or else I die!”

However much Jacob loved Rachel, that love could not open her womb. Rachel talked to Jacob for a long time about it and Jacob responded;

And Jacob’s anger was aroused against Rachel, and he said, “Am I in the place of God, who has withheld from you the fruit of the womb?”

Rachel’s case was a GOD case and not a JACOB case. However much someone loves you, there are things they can never do for you and only God can.

Your case is not hopeless; you are just talking to the wrong person.

Genesis 30:22 Then God remembered Rachel, and God listened to her and opened her womb.

God remembered Rachel and not Jacob. There are things men cannot help but only God can. That is why God is telling you to call on Him (pray).

2 Kings 20:1-3 In those days Hezekiah was sick and near death. And Isaiah the prophet, the son of Amoz, went to him and said to him, “Thus says the Lord: ‘Set your house in order, for you shall die, and not live.’ ”[2]Then he turned his face toward the wall, and prayed to the Lord, saying, [3]“Remember now, O Lord, I pray, how I have walked before You in truth and with a loyal heart, and have done what was good in Your sight.” And Hezekiah WEPT BITTERLY.

No man has a final say over your life. King Hezekiah wept bitterly and God heard his cry (2 Kings 20:5-6).

Read 2 Kings 20:11

One man Isaiah prayed and the shadow went ten degrees backwards. Prayer brings God to the scene and when God comes to the scene, things change.

Luke 23:42-43 [42] Then he said to Jesus, “Lord, REMEMBER ME when You come into Your kingdom.” [43] And Jesus said to him, “Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise.”

It looked like nothing was happening but somebody with a revelation cried to a bleeding Jesus and He answered Him.

If Jesus hanging on the cross can answer prayers, then how about Jesus who is seated at the right hand of the Father?

Do not allow third parties to interrupt between you and God because there are certain things only Jesus can do for you. Call on the Lord and He will answer because He is rich unto all who call on Him.
