THE FINISHED WORK OF THE CROSS

Romans 8:7-8 [7] Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be. [8] So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God.

A carnal Christian is a man controlled and governed by the five senses that make him unable to walk in faith.

In this kingdom, we don’t function by common sense but by Spiritual sense. The Word of God becomes the final decision for our life choices and anything outside of God’s Word is not ours.

What is God’s Word? God’s Word is Jesus Christ personified. He is everything, for nothing was created without Him. Jesus is the Genesis of all that is seen and unseen. (John 1:1-3)

Jeremiah 17:5 Thus says the LORD: “Cursed is the man who trusts in man And makes flesh his strength, Whose heart departs from the LORD.

The meaning of a curse is: failure. We therefore set ourselves up for failure when we put our trust in mere men. Do not put your trust in a man who lives today and is gone tomorrow, no matter how high their status is.

Put your confidence in Jesus, who left His glory in Heaven to become an atonement for us on the cross, and paid the highest price for everything we need in life.

He is our all in all: He became our sanctification, wisdom and righteousness. (1 Corinthians 1:30)

Leviticus 1:1-4

When the children of Israel would sin in the Old Testament, they would take the lamb to the priest. He would then examine the lamb to make sure that it had no wrinkle, spot or deformity. He would present the lamb at the altar before the Lord when it was found perfect.

God did not examine the person who brought the lamb; He examined the lamb. The same applies to us when we go before God in prayer. He does not look at us but at Jesus, the perfect lamb.

John 14:13 And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

There is nothing we can ever do to pay for what Christ did for us. No matter how much we are used by God, it will always be based on our mediator, Jesus Christ, and not our prayers, fastings, or spiritual activities.

The Father can never say no to Jesus. So whenever we come in His Name, we are guaranteed the solution because He can never fail. Atonement is everything to us and is the answer to everything that we are going through.
