Psalms 40:5… And Your thoughts toward us Cannot be recounted to You in order; [If] I would declare and speak [of them,] They are more than can be numbered.
David said he couldn’t recount the good thoughts the Lord had toward him and all he could do was bow his heart in reverence and adoration.
I pray that the Lord will teach us to pour our hearts in thanksgiving and worship, with psalms and spiritual songs of His goodness and mercy.
We often take our salvation for granted, yet the creator (Christ), fell from glory and became a creature in pursuit of us. God can do without you and me, yet He chose to include us in His plan because of His goodness and mercy.
Romans 9:11-12 (for [the children] not yet being born, nor having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works but of Him who calls), it was said to her, [ “The older shall serve the younger.”]
When God spoke that the older twin would serve the younger one (Jacob and Esau), it wasn’t a result of what they had done. God calls us by the election of grace not works.
This election of grace qualifies us to be in God’s presence not our long hours of prayer or the many days of fasting. When we get this in our spirit, we cannot let a foot of pride in us.
We must understand as followers of Christ this one thing however much God lifts or gives us influence, always remember that it is by the election of grace. (Romans 9:15, Exodus 34:6-7)
1 Corinthians 15:10 But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me was not in vain, but I labored more abundantly than they all, yet not I, but the grace of God [which was] with me.
Paul always pointed people back to the grace of God. Lean on God’s mercy and goodness regardless of your seeking, prayer or fasting. If there is anything to boast of, let it be on the cross like the Apostle Paul.
It is God’s grace and mercy that empowers us and helps us in our shortcomings, for this reason, we are forever grateful for the cross and will always celebrate His mercy.
As David offered unto the Lord every six steps (2 Samuel 6:13), I encourage us to reflect daily and thank God for His grace and mercy.
STAY BLESSED AND HIGHLY FAVORED, WE LOVE YOU.
