One of the formulas God has put in place for us to enter into His promises is faith and patience.
Hebrews 6:12 that you do not become sluggish, but imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.
Every believer ought to develop the virtue of patience as a pillar of life. If not, you can easily abort your dreams and walk away from what God has prepared for you because of impatience.
It is only a man of faith and patience that is never in haste because they trust God and believe that He is true to His word.
Psalm 37:7-10 Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for Him; Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way, Because of the man who brings wicked schemes to pass.
As you wait on the promises of God to find manifestation, be still in His presence and wait patiently for Him, not a man. For it is God who touches the hearts of men and moves them to fulfil His Word.
It is so easy to throw in the towel and become angry when you see others succeed, while it looks like nothing is happening in your life. This is why the bible says, to be still in His presence. (Psalm 37:8-9)
Throughout the scriptures, we see men who lost faith and fell victim to impatience.
In Genesis 16:2, our Father Abraham fell victim to impatience. When it looked like the promise of God was not happening, Sarai managed to convince Abraham to sleep with a maid and he brought forth Ismael. Today, the world is in chaos because of Ismael’s descendants.
Many believers settled for Ismael thinking it was Isaac because of impatience. Thank God that He is a God of second chance, if you can turn to Him and tell Him, ‘Lord, I am sorry.’
Esau lost his position because of impatience (Genesis 25:29-33). He lost his birthright for a plate of bean soup. As a result, he missed out on his father’s blessings despite his efforts.
Do not sell your birthright at that place of work, or go out with a non-believer because you feel that your biological clock is ticking. God is faithful, keep in His presence and Keep doing the right thing. (Ecclesiastes 3:11)
In the book of 1 Samuel 13:8-14, King Saul also lost his throne because he could not wait for Samuel and this same thing is happening in the house of God today.
Don’t be weary, keep doing good even when the right things are not happening for you. Do not let go of what God has spoken to you, keep your eyes on His faithfulness and your reward will surely come. (Galatians 6:9)
