Now it came to pass in those days, when Moses was grown, that he went out to his brethren and looked at their burdens. And he saw an Egyptian beating a Hebrew, one of his brethren. So he looked this way and that way, and when he saw no one, he killed the Egyptian and hid him in the sand…Exodus 2:11-15.

For he supposed that his brethren would have understood that God would deliver them by his hand, but they did not…Acts 7:20-25

Moses sensed a burden, a call early on in his heart that God would deliver his brothers out of captivity through him.

At this time Moses was born and was well-pleasing to God, and he was brought up in his father’s house for three months. But when he was set out, Pharaoh’s daughter took him away and brought him up as her own son…Acts 7:20-21

Moses grew up in the palace. He enjoyed a lavish lifestyle of comfort, pleasure, and wealth. He had all that any man would have longed for and enjoyed the best of education in that day. ( Acts 7:22).

But, because of the burden of the Lord upon his heart, he forsook it all and walked away. He slumped from being a prince to being a shepherd, living at the mercy of his father-in-law.

By faith Moses, when he became of age, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter, choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God …esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt; for he looked to the reward…Hebrews 11:24-26

He walked away from the best of life at his prime because of the burden of the Lord.

May this burden of the Lord visit every preacher, man, and woman of God in this generation to cause us to forsake all and go after Christ.

May that burden cause all things to appear as dung before your eyes that you may choose to go after God.

Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ,…Philippians 3:8

The world may call it madness, but it’s the burden of the Lord moving you.

He stood before Pharoah armed with the burden and the Lord Himself.

His only weapons were the anointing and the presence of God.

May the Lord equip the church with these weapons once again.

A humble man dressed with God brought an entire civilization to its knees for 9 months!. ( Numbers 12:3).

It was the burden of the Lord that made Moses have an encounter with God and deliver an entire nation.

Cry out to the Lord to give you His burden.

The burden of the Lord will drive you to fast and pray until you encounter God and return with the power needed to deliver your home, family, and nation.

Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.  Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”…Matthew 11:28-30

The burden of the Lord will drive you back to the cross.

Yet indeed I also count all things loss…that I may gain Christ that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death…Philippians 3:8-11

It’s at the cross that we die to the things of the world that men hold onto so dearly. ( 1 John 2:16).

May the Lord through the Holy Spirit, fill you with His burden and lead you to the cross so that you may view all other things as dung and pursue Him until that burden is fulfilled in your life in Jesus Mighty name!.
