What does it mean to worship God?

In a nutshell, it means to live for Him in everything you do. That is the embodiment of worship.

Genesis 3:8 And they heard the sound of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, …

God’s ever-deepest yearning is fellowship between you and Him. That is why Jesus came primarily to reconcile us back to Himself.

The greatest treasure in the Garden of Eden that Adam and Eve enjoyed before the fall was that sweet voice in the cool of the day: the fellowship of the Trinity.

The primary ministry of the Holy Spirit is to bring us into the fellowship of the Trinity. It is unfortunate that sometimes we pay more attention to the callings, ministry, serving, and giftings than what birthed them.

2 Corinthians 13:14 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit [be] with you all. Amen.

The Holy Spirit brings you into the experience of the love and grace of our Lord Jesus Christ.

That is why the most valuable asset in the life of a believer is the voice of God in your heart, the fellowship of the Spirit. When you stop hearing that voice then you know your fellowship has got an issue.

Beyond the relationship that salvation brings us into, we must progress into the intimate fellowship from which diverse things are birthed from.

Colossians 1:18 And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the PREEMINENCE.

We must keep in fellowship for Him to occupy our hearts and the moment He occupies the first place everything beautiful flows from that relationship and fellowship into our affairs.

The constraint, that pulls you into God is called the fellowship of the Holy Spirit.

That’s why Jesus said that you can say anything about the Son of Man ;

but he who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness but is subject to eternal condemnation” Mark 3:29

He is the Spirit of the Father/Son who brings us into that workable, practical, experiential, knowledge of the Father, and Son and more so carries the finished work of Jesus Christ and applies it to our lives to become our reality.

We who are born again wouldn’t be knowing the salvation experience had it not been the ministry of the Holy Spirit, He brings us into fellowship with healing, restoration, joy, peace and everything that Jesus did for us on the cross.

Outside Him is religion, you become tired, bored, weary etc. When you begin to sense all these in your walk with God the truth is that you have begun walking away from Him.

James 4:5 Or do you think that the Scripture says in vain, “The Spirit who dwells in us yearns jealously”?

As a husband yearns for fellowship with his wife, that is how the Spirit in us yearns for fellowship with the Master in a spiritually healthy believer.

Genesis 6:3 And the LORD said, “My Spirit shall not strive with man forever, for he [is] indeed flesh; yet his days shall be one hundred and twenty years.”

I find this one of the saddest scriptures in the bible because it was followed by judgment. God was saying I have laboured to bring into their hearts that what they are doing is not right but the man persisted.

When you can still feel His grief upon your heart, thank God and respond immediately because it shows you are still spiritually healthy.

Ephesians 4:30 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, …

Any character that contradicts His makes Him withdraw but when you heartily repent He returns.

Revelation 3:1 “… “I know your works, that you have a name that you are alive, but you are dead.

Death is the absence of the ministry of the Holy Spirit because the Holy Spirit is the life-giver. (Romans 8:2.)

That is why we have to guard jealousy the fellowship with the Holy Spirit because it is in this fellowship that we are interfused with the benefits of the finished work of Jesus Christ (John 16:7).

Genesis 2:7 And the LORD God formed man [of] the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and man became a living being.

God formed this beautiful structure but without the factor called the Spirit, it couldn’t become alive. Without the Spirit, there is no life however organized you are.

Make up your mind to cooperate with the Holy Spirit to guard jealousy your fellowship with the Holy Spirit and ask Him to carry you into dimensions you have never reached.
