TAKE HEED OF YOUR HOLY CALLING

Nov 18, 2024

2 Timothy 1:8-9 who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began,

When we confess Christ, we secure a holy calling not according to our works but according to God’s purpose for us and there is always grace in God to back it up so that we finish the course.

God chose and called us out according to 1 Peter 2:9 and there is a reward for those who have been called and lived in their calling.

Romans 14:11-12… So then each of us shall give an account of himself to God.

We all have a unique calling: some are called in career, political arena etc and we must give account of how we lived.

That is why Apostle Paul admonishes us in Ephesians 5:15-16 to walk circumspectly redeeming the time. We must take heed to the calling that we have received that we may fulfill it.

Fulfillment and mounting up in the area of our calling comes from the place of waiting and tarrying at the altar and it is only possible by the help of the Holy Spirit. John 14:16

Romans 8:26-27 Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered…

There are many weaknesses we have as believers, but the Bible points us to one place; prayer. Help is available wherever we need it as long as that is where God has called us to be.

Acts 6:1-6, Acts 13:1-3

The apostles understood their calling and gave themselves to the ministry of prayer and the Word. That is how the Holy Spirit was able to help their ministry to grow and redefine their destinies.

The altar can never be avoided because it is the place where we get wisdom on what to do and how to do it.

When the Holy Spirit shows you what to do, He also fashions you with the tools to enable you. As a ministry, we have prayer and the Word as some of our tools. As long as we remain at that place of the altar, the Holy Spirit will continue making us until we manifest and fulfil our calling.
