God did not tell Mary that she was not going to get married; He just wanted to interrupt her plans and Mary accepted.

How can a fifteen-year-old girl postpone all her plans to obey God! The plans you have may not be demonic but can you allow God to interrupt them?

Luke 1:28 And having come in, the angel said to her, “Rejoice, highly favored one, the Lord is with you; blessed are you among women!”

Luke 34-35,38 Then Mary said to the angel, “How can this be, since I do not know a man?” And the angel answered and said to her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God.

[38]Then Mary said, “Behold the maidservant of the Lord! Let it be to me according to your word.” And the angel departed from her.

God is looking for men and women to give birth to saviours. This is only possible by your obedience and surrender to the will of God just like Mary.

We are too weak that if God does not help us, we cannot do it on our own. That is why we pray because our sufficiency is not of ourselves.

Matthew 26:35 Peter said to Him, “Even if I have to die with You, I will not deny You!” And so said all the disciples.

Peter was strong willed but when things got bad, he denied Jesus (Matthew 26:69-74).

When Jesus resurrected, He told Peter;

Most assuredly, I say to you, when you were younger, you girded yourself and walked where you wished; but when you are old, you will stretch out your hands, and another will gird you and carry you where you do not wish.” John 21:18

Jesus meant that Peter only had to surrender (lift hands) and the Holy Spirit would carry him.

Whenever you welcome the Holy Spirit into your life, He generates His desires in you: God begins to feel, think and desire through you (Psalms 37:4).

Mary was not educated and no one knew her but what she did was to surrender to the Holy Spirit. When you surrender, you will be amazed at what God will do through you: you will become a force to reckon on.

Read Acts 2

Peter began to quote scriptures he had not read. When the Holy Spirit takes over, you will begin to do things that are beyond what you think because the Holy Spirit never fails.

You are the most dangerous person living on the face of the earth but are you willing to surrender?

When you surrender to Him, He will carry, inspire and put desires in your heart that you did not have. You will find yourself living a godly life because God has put His fear into you (Jeremiah 32:39-40).

Romans 7:15-17 For what I am doing, I do not understand. For what I will to do, that I do not practice; but what I hate, that I do. If, then, I do what I will not to do, I agree with the law that it is good. But now, it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells in me.

That is what the human will does but the Christian life is lived by surrendering to the Holy Spirit because His power never fails.

Surrender is not a one-day thing but a continuous event. When we surrender to the Holy Spirit every day, He will carry us.

Philippians 2:13 For it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.

It is not enough to be willing but you must be able to do. It is God who does both; all come through surrender.

The Christian life is possible as long as we are willing to submit to the Holy Spirit. He is the helper and He is here to help you overcome in whichever area of your life that you need help.
