Exodus 13:21 And the LORD went before them by day in a pillar of cloud to lead the way, and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, so as to go by day and night.
The children of Israel witnessed God’s power and glory through different miracles He performed in their lives for forty years.
However, tradition denied them from believing. They became so familiar with God and His presence could no longer affect them.
Matthew 15:8  ‘These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me.
Like the children of Israel, the disciples of Jesus experienced a similar thing.
They held on to traditions which denied them from experiencing Christ.
Mark 7:13 making the word of God of no effect through your tradition which you have handed down. And many such things you do.”
Tradition makes the Word of God powerless.
When power is removed from the Word of God, it ceases to bring forth fruits in the life of an individual ( Luke 13:7).
Isaiah 29:13… people draw near with their mouths And honor Me with their lips, But have removed their hearts far from Me, And their fear toward Me is taught by the commandment of men,
It is possible to stay in a congregation full of God’s presence and you remain untouched.
Help in this kingdom can only come to men and women who are weak, and willing to submit and surrender to God like the little children.
Matthew 19:14 But Jesus said, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven.”
Most believers have failed to enjoy this kingdom (Salvation) because they have lost the childlike attitude for the things of God.
God bypasses them because of their mature attitude.
Acts 10:14 But Peter said, “Not so, Lord! For I have never eaten anything common or unclean.”
Peter anointed as he was, was bound with the Jewish tradition (Acts 10) to the extent that he could not enter into the fullness of what God had called him to do.
God had to later raise Apostle Paul to take His body ahead.
May the Holy Spirit deliver you from all kinds of traditions in your walk with God and let simplicity define your life with utmost brokenness, hunger, and thirst.
