Mark 3:13-14 And He went up on the mountain and called to [Him] those He Himself wanted. And they came to Him. Then He appointed twelve, that they might be with Him and that He might send them out to preach.

Jesus called the disciples to Himself; that they may be with Him. This is the foundation that you and I will ever need to do anything for God. He longs for that interface fellowship or communion with you.

He first called the disciples to be with Him, then He sent them. Jesus first transforms us to be like Him, in order to go out and represent Him. When we spend time with Him, what is of Him is transferred into us; every part within the structure of our souls is permeated by the life of Christ. He then finds expression through our words, thoughts and actions.

2 Corinthians 3:18 But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.

We look at Jesus because He is the transforming glory and light. It is not a physical look but a spiritual one brought about by spending time in fellowship with Him until the eyes of our understanding are opened, and our hearts flooded with light leading to transformation.

As we behold Him, change begins to take place in us. This is more than just hearing sermons and reading books, it is a place of fellowship.

Proverbs 13:20 He who walks with wise [men] will be wise…

When you walk with the Lord, you will start to be like Him.  Much as there is a lot to be done, God cannot send us until we first spend time with Him. This is because it is through fellowship that we are transformed into the likeness of our master.

Psalms 17:15 As for me, I will see Your face in righteousness; I shall be satisfied when I awake in Your likeness.

The reason we are praying and seeking the Lord for these twenty-one days is to ask the Holy Spirit to bring our lives into complete alignment so that our will, emotions and mind come under His influence to the extent that He can feel through our emotions, will through our will and think through our minds.

Read Matthew 16:17

For a moment, Peter allowed the Father to use his mind, to think through him. When the Lord calls us to the place of consecration, He is looking for a man or woman who will yield their will to His.

John 4:34 Jesus said to them, “My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to finish His work.

We are strengthened and empowered by the will of the Father; that is our food and you can only get to that point when you allow the Holy Spirit to draw you to a place of fellowship.

Acts 4:13 Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated and untrained men, they marveled. And they realized that they had been with Jesus.

We cannot spend time with Jesus and remain the same. Something must happen to our soul structure so that the Holy Spirit may find liberty to do whatever He wants to do in our churches and workplaces.

If anything is holding you back, ask the Holy Spirit to unburden you so that you may become His body; hand, mouthpiece, feet.

This is not for a preacher but for every child of God who longs for Him to have an expression through his or her life. He is calling each one of us to a higher level of consecration (Joshua 3:5).
