Jeremiah 29:10-13
10 For thus says the Lord: After seventy years are completed at Babylon, I will visit you and perform My good word toward you, and cause you to return to this place. [11] For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. [12] Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. [13] And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.
When the Lord delivers you from captivity and restores you to the land of promise, His desire is not just your comfort but your communion. In the place of restoration, He calls you to seek Him with all your heart. This was the reason for His visitation after the seventy years.
After restoration, many people tend to settle into comfort and ease. Yet, God’s expectation is different. He desires that even in times of peace and abundance, we pursue Him passionately — so that the very blessings meant to lift us do not end up destroying or distracting us.
Often, we seek God most fervently in seasons of trial and affliction. But the Lord’s invitation goes beyond hardship; He calls us to seek Him even when there seems to be no need — when the pain is gone, when the prayers have been answered. This is the true test of a genuine seeker: to pray when there is no reason to pray, to worship when all seems well.
When a man continues to seek God in times of comfort and fulfillment, he reaches a place where nothing can come between him and the Lord.
Sadly, it is often during times of comfort that believers and even churches grow complacent. Revival fades not in persecution but in prosperity. Many stop seeking God once restoration comes.
But in this season, the Lord is calling us back—to seek Him wholeheartedly in our places of comfort and peace. There is a new dimension of His presence and power that He wants to reveal in your life in the land of abundance and rest.
So even in your comfort, seek the Lord with all your heart.
Prayer:
Holy Spirit, this is my cry: that I will not be distracted by the comfort, abundance, or blessings You bring into my life. May every blessing become a reason to seek You more. Let nothing You give me draw me away from You. In the land of my peace and fulfillment, may I love and pursue You with all my heart.
In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
STAY BLESSED AND HIGHLY FAVORED. WE LOVE YOU.
