John 15:1-2 *“I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. * Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit.

You can be in Jesus and fail to bear fruits (manifest the character of the Kingdom).

Matthew 7:16,22 You will know them by their fruits. Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’

Prophecying, casting out of demons, and doing wonders are power dimensions of the gifts of the Holy Spirit (1Corinthians 12).

Gifts can flow from anyone but the fruit-bearing ability of the branch depends on the rootedness, connectivity, fellowship, and union with Christ (the Vine).

2 Corinthians 13:14 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all.

The sap found in trees that transports life from the roots to the branches is the Holy Spirit.

Many lives in the body of Christ have failed to reflect the character of the kingdom. They speak in tongues yet fail to manifest the fruits of the spirit (Galatians 5:22) because speaking in tongues is a gift.

Fruits reveal the nature of a tree but not gifts.

Psalms 1:1-3 But his delight is in the law of the Lord, And in His law, he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree Planted by the rivers of water, That brings forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper.

Ephesians 5:26 That He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word,…

The tree (born-agains) has its roots in the water (the Word) and can bear in and out of season according to the calendar of nature because it draws its water from within and not out of its system.

We have failed to bear fruits(character) because of a lack of rootedness in the water of the Word and this could be the cause of the lack of progress and prosperity.

It is not enough to pray but you must have what it takes to sustain your desire because God will never promote you to a place if your character can not hold you there.

1 Corinthians 6:17 But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him.

The union between your spirit and that of God must result in the manifestation of the fruits of the Spirit and the degree of union will determine the level of manifestation.

Your fruit life obtained through fellowship with the Holy Spirit determines the strength of your relationship with God and with one another.

Matthew 4:4 ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’

Ephesians 6:17 And the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God;

The Word of God is what the Holy Spirit uses to reproduce the character of God (fruits of the spirit) in our lives.

Joshua 1:8 This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have success.

Acts 6:4 but we will give ourselves continually to prayer and the ministry of the word.”

The reason why we haven’t walked into the manifestation of the many things we are praying for is that we lack the maturity to handle in that dimension.

We ought to grow in our union with the Holy Spirit and deliberately engage God’s Word in our lives.

John 14:26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.

John 16:13 However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.

The four assignments of the Holy Spirit (teaching, showing, guidance, and remembrance) are hinged on the understanding or engagement of God’s Word in your life.

It is the study, meditation, and confessing of the God-breathed scriptures ( 2 Timothy 3:16 ) that provide the perimeter of the safety of operation in the things of the Spirit.

The Holy Spirit will only remind you of things you have read, teach you things you study, guide you using the Word of God, mature you by taking the scriptures and showing you how to apply them in your marriage, business, academics, etc.

Your rootedness and connectivity through fellowship with the Holy Spirit is what gives you a fruitful life. He prunes us using the Word.

Proverbs 16:1 The preparations of the heart belong to man, But the answer of the tongue is from the Lord.

Your level of preparation through character(fruit life) is what determines the answers you get from the Father.
