John 2:3–5 “And when they ran out of wine, the mother of Jesus said to Him, ‘They have no wine.’ Jesus said to her, ‘Woman, what does your concern have to do with Me? My hour has not yet come.’ His mother said to the servants, ‘Whatever He says to you, do it.’”
The first miracle Jesus performed was at a wedding in Cana of Galilee, where He turned water into wine. There was a need, and Jesus responded to that need—even before His appointed time—because His mother, Mary, placed a demand on the grace and power upon His life.
Though she was only a guest, Mary drew on the divine possibility resident in Christ. She understood that times and seasons are in His hands and that He can change anything at any time (Daniel 4:17).
Beloved, discern the seasons—know when to sit at the Master’s feet and when to engage in divine partnership with Him. In (Luke 10:38-42), Mary sat at Jesus’ feet, listening to His word, while Martha was distracted by many things. Jesus commended Mary, saying she had chosen the good part, which would not be taken away from her.
Ministry, prophecy, and gifts may fade, but nothing can take away your fellowship with the Master. That intimacy is the foundation of everything in your life. As a ministry, when we live prostrate before Him—walking on our knees—His presence will always go with us.
In (Matthew 15:22–28), a Canaanite woman also placed a demand on Jesus. Her daughter was grievously afflicted, and though she was an outsider, she persisted until Jesus responded. Her faith broke barriers, and her daughter was healed.
Faith and hunger move God. I have seen people attend church for the first time and receive instant miracles, while others who have been around for years see little change. The difference often lies in the soil—the condition of the heart. The Word (seed) has no problem; it’s the soil that determines the fruit.
When things seem delayed, check your heart. If your heart is right, then remain steadfast, for Scripture says, “Through faith and patience we inherit the promises.” Waiting is often the hardest part of the journey, yet it is in waiting that God matures and refines us.
Whether you are an insider or an outsider, God can step in at any time. What matters is faith—a sincere, honest demand upon His grace.
In this season, May God send prophetic and profitable friends like Mary—people who stand in the gap for you, who refuse to see you in shame, and who will place a demand on Heaven on your behalf.
Prayer: In the Name of Jesus, I decree that whatever concerns—health, finances, relationships, or destiny—are settled now. The time of your favour and salvation is here. Lord, open our eyes to recognise the help You have sent to us, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
