Our heavenly Father, You’re worthy of our worship.
There has never been a longing, desire, and zeal in our hearts to see heaven manifest on earth like this. We are gathered on account of your Word, as you have spoken:
Matthew 6:10 Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as [it is] in heaven.
However, it doesn’t look like it. That’s why we are here to petition You, the author of eternal life, creator of the universe, the one with whom there is no shadow of turning back, from whom every perfect gift comes, and the supplier of more grace (James 1:17, James 4, 6).
We are gathered here before Your throne, Lord, to receive mercy and obtain grace to help. If there has been an hour of need, this is the hour of need for the church to reveal the authenticity and reality of the redemptive work of Your son, Jesus, for Your Name’s sake, honour, glory, and praise.
Acts 14:16-17 [16]who in bygone generations allowed all nations to walk in their own ways. [17] Nevertheless He did not leave Himself without witness, in that He did good, gave us rain from heaven and fruitful seasons, filling our hearts with food and gladness.”
In every age and generation, You never leave Yourself without a witness.
We have a right, upon which we place a demand on You, for this generation needs a witness from the pulpits in church to the streets and the marketplace. Master, let there be a public display of Your greatness, that men will be left without excuse because You have shown Yourself to all men.
For Your Name’s sake, bow the heavens over this congregation and house as we seek You. Incline Your ear and hear our heartbeat, Lord.
Judges 6:13 Gideon said to Him, “O [a]my lord, if the Lord is with us, why then has all this happened to us? And where are all His miracles which our fathers told us about,…
Everything within us pants: ‘Where is the God of our fathers?’ If God is with us, where are all the miracles our fathers told us about? Eternal Father, we can not go on like this; something must happen to the body of Christ in this nation, beginning with us.
You said let the natural things teach you the spiritual things: Lord, we have stepped into the advancement of the future of science and technology, yet, as Your church, we have not moved from the Stone Age!
We petition You, Lord, for Your Name’s sake, let something break loose in the lives of Your people. Let there be a restlessness and stirring in the lives of Your people.
Haggai 1:14 So the LORD stirred up the spirit of Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and the spirit of Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, and the spirit of all the remnant of the people; and they came and worked on the house of the LORD of hosts, their God,
You stirred up the spirit of Zerubbabel, Zechariah, and the entire remnant of Israel to build the temple. You asked who saw the house in its early days, but the latter’s glory shall be greater than the former. (Haggai 2:9)
Shake this nation from complacency and indifference, which have eaten Your body. You have a remnant. We are not the best, but we are tired.
That’s why we thank You for the things you have archived for this age and hour: the wisdom for our glory to make manifest and draw men to Yourself.
Jesus, Your blood does better than this: You paid so high a price, this is not all. So we place a demand on the redemptive work of Jesus Christ: that nail-pierced hands, bruised body, and thorns on Your head. Daddy stir up Yourself for the sake of the suffering of Your son, Jesus Christ.
We pray that You awaken Your church and free us from pride and a sense of arrival mentality that has brought indifference in the body of Christ. Let the veils fall from our eyes and be removed from our hearts.
Bring back the church, oh Lord.
