OVERCOMING THE ENEMY BY THE SPIRIT OF TRUTH

Mar 16, 2023

James 2:26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

It is the Holy Spirit who powers a believer’s physical body and brings life (empowerment, ability and enablement) to their Christian living by transforming what is written of you in the scriptures from the spiritual dimension into the material world. There is no meaning to your Christian life outside the person and ministry of the Holy Spirit.  (Zechariah 4:6)

John 16:13 However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; …

Without the help of the Holy Spirit, you will become a victim of the enemy. The most dangerous weapon of Lucifer is deception/ trickery; he sells lies and that is how he gains entry and eventually dominates the lives of many believers.  (John 8:44)

No amount of human intelligence, wisdom, or knowledge can be able to match the deception of Lucifer in this world. The only way you can expose this deception is through the Spirit of truth (Holy Spirit) because even your own heart can deceive you. (Psalms 139:23-24

Ephesians 6:11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

There is no way you can know the trickery and wiles of the enemy unless you allow the Spirit of truth to gain dominion over your soul, mind, emotions, and will. Engaging the ministry of the Holy Spirit intentionally and consistently is our only way out of all the devil’s works.

That’s why the bible calls us to a life of humility, brokenness, and contrition of spirit. This is knowing that without the Holy Spirit, you cannot do anything of eternal value. This heart posture will attract the help of the Holy Spirit.

Psalms 51:11 Do not cast me away from Your presence And do not take Your Holy Spirit from me.

David knew that the moment the Lord withdrew His hand from him, he is a done man because he knew where God picked him from. This constant consciousness that David developed is what anchored him to the Lord (1 Samuel 13:14).

Great men of God like Moses told God: ‘If your presence does not go with us, please don’t take us away from here’ (Exodus 33:15). It is the Holy Spirit that makes the presence of God known among us. But how much of Him do you desire?

1 Peter 2:17 Honor all [people.] Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the king.

Fearing God means His word stands as the final authority in and over your life. Wherever you are, is it the hand of the Lord? When the Holy Spirit withdraws His hand from you and you start functioning like a mere man, you will become a shadow of what God ever wanted you to be.

We ought to live our lives forever broken and contrite in spirit, and the word of the Lord is always our fear. It is in this state that God’s heart will perpetually rest upon a ministry or an individual.

2 Corinthians 3:18 But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.

When we behold the Holy Spirit, we become transformed. Keep your eyes on Him because everything is resolved around Him: your family, life, ministry, etc.

It does not matter what spiritual activity we engage in, if the Spirit of the Lord is not in it, it will be ordinary. (John 5:19) I pray that the Holy Spirit will continue to stir up that hunger and thirst.
