God loves us so much and desires to have deeper fellowship with us. But to enter those deeper dimensions, we must fulfill one of the conditions which is obedience to His instructions.
Salvation is free — simply confess Jesus as your Lord and Savior, and you are born again. However, how close you walk with God depends on your degree of obedience to His instructions.
Isaiah 51:1-2 “Listen to Me, you who follow after righteousness, You who seek the LORD: Look to the rock from which you were hewn, And to the hole of the pit from which you were dug. Look to Abraham your father, And to Sarah who bore you; For I called him alone, And blessed him and increased him.”
Abraham’s life reflects an outrageous and radical obedience to God’s voice and instructions. He became a friend of God, and as a result, God has tied the blessings of the entire world to him. (Genesis 22:12, Genesis 12:18)
The blessing of Abraham comes to us because of our obedience to Jesus. The biggest challenge we have in the church today is that many believers have not or are not willing to pay the price of obedience to secure a deeper walk with God.
Obedience to the Lord’s instructions is proof of your love for Him and not in how many hours you pray, fast, or give. These are good but mean nothing if you are walking in rebellion. Obedience is what moves the heart of Jesus.
Isaiah 66:1-2
The fear of God is not trembling but obedience to what God says. Can you walk away from that relationship because God has said so? Can you stop doing what you do because the Holy Spirit is convicting you? Can you shut down that business because it offends the Holy Spirit?
The level of authority that a man wills in the Spirit is tied to his obedience to the voice of God. That is why Paul said;
2 Corinthians 10:4-6 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, 5 casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, 6 and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.
We shall be able to punish the devil when our obedience is complete. Many are unable to exert enough influence in the spirit realm because their obedience is incomplete and the devil knows it.
Your life obedience is key to the level of authority you walk in the spirit.
2 Corinthians 3:5
It is the Holy Spirit who works in us both to will and to do. However, God does not take away your will. The easiest way is for you to cooperate with Him, and He will supply the grace. The Holy Spirit empowers us to live a life that God desires us to live.
God wants to show up in a way He has never before but to be part of it, we must intentionally reach out for the grace of obedience; abiding by the principles and instructions of the Lord until we become instruments of honour before Him. (2 Timothy 2:20-22)
If you love Jesus, it will be seen in your obedience to His instructions. But how much do you love Jesus?
