Living a victorious life does not mean that problems and trials will not come, but in the midst of it all, there are things and practices that will always keep us on the highway of victorious living. One of them is being filled and controlled by the Love of God.
John 13:35 — “By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”
According to Romans 5:5, the love of God, with which He loved Jesus and with which Jesus loves us, was poured into our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us. You have the love of God in you.
According to 1 Thessalonians 5:23, man is a tripartite being. The love of God has been poured out in your spirit, but is this love flowing into your soul so that your will, mind, and emotions are dominated and impacted by love?
What is in you is what comes out of you. Therefore, for you to mirror the life of Christ, you must be love-controlled and your life must be love-conditioned. This provides the environment for your words, thoughts, and deeds to mirror the life of Christ.
Nothing should ever separate us from the love of God because outside of love, you will find yourself reacting to life’s circumstances like people who do not know Jesus.
Romans 8:35-37 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? [Shall] tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?….
All that is listed in the Scripture above is what is happening in life. The challenges that come our way do not want us to express divine love because if this love is on the inside of you, you will overcome tribulation. All the tribulations come so that you can question the love of God inside you.
The ability to walk victoriously in such times of hardship is rooted in an understanding and knowing within you that God loves you so much and He wants the best for you. Ask the Lord to give you a revelation of His love and overshadow your soul.
1 Thessalonians 3:12 — “And may the Lord make you increase and abound in love to one another and to all, just as we do to you.”
Paul prayed for the Thessalonian church that they may increase and abound in love. This means that the measure of love expressed through your soul can increase through prayer. Pray that love may increase in your soul.
Where there is love, the fruit of the Holy Spirit will be expressed in your soul. When a man’s heart is saturated with love, you do not need the law because love becomes the law.
As you journey with God, do not place emphasis on power but on love because it is the only way we shall show that we are Jesus’ disciples. It is possible to operate in power yet without love. Anything you do in this Kingdom must be sieved through love because love is what gives weight in the Kingdom. (Matthew 7:23; Matthew 25:35-40)
Whatever life situation you are going through, do not fear because God is with you. Stop defining God’s love by your circumstances. Whatever God does for you—healing, provision, etc.—is because He loves you. His love has no hidden agenda, unlike a man’s love.
1 John 2:7-10; James 2:8-9
The darkness is now already passing away as the light in you, which is love in your spirit, is already shining. This light has to be deposited in your soul. Therefore, if you claim to be in the light but hate your brother, then you are in darkness. In this Kingdom, we cannot hate because hate is of darkness, and darkness is of the devil.
It is love that provides stability in life. Ask God to help you increase and abound in love. You are called to walk in love as Christ has loved you—love with the same measure with which Christ loved you.
We express this love through: tender mercy, kindness, meekness, long-suffering, bearing with one another, and covering another’s sin.
