The degree to which we live this Christian life successfully is tied to our yieldedness, obedience and relationship with the Holy Spirit. Each time we see failure in our lives or breakdowns in our walk with God, that is an indication that we are missing out on the help of the Holy Spirit.

God is the lawgiver in Heaven who comes in our hearts as the law-keeper. He gives the instructions and then lives in our hearts in the form of the Holy Spirit, to help us keep these instructions.

Galatians 5:17 For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish.

Unless the Holy Spirit dominates the senses and soul of a man, the good on the inside of him stays trapped.

That is why we spend time in the presence of God; to bring our souls under the governance of the Holy Spirit and for Him to have dominion over our senses.

1 Corinthians 3:3 for you are still carnal. For where [there are] envy, strife, and divisions among you, are you not carnal and behaving like [mere] men?

The church of Corinth was not yet under the governance of the Holy Spirit even though the gifts of the Holy Spirit were flowing in them. They were simply using Him but He was not Lord over their lives. (2 Corinthians 13:14)

When you read throughout the gospels, Jesus spent more time with the disciples than the masses not because He didn’t love them, but because the masses wanted to use Him.  The crowds wanted healing and deliverance more than they wanted Him.

This is the attitude of many believers today. We hang around the Master because of what He can do for us instead of having a relationship with Him.

Ephesians 5:18 And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit.

Have you seen a believer who lives like a non-believer and their lives are out of control because they are not under the governance of the spirit?

Many speak in tongues but their lives are not transformed. When a man or woman is filled with the Holy Spirit, transformation proceeds speaking in tongues. The best example is Jesus Christ.

Then Jesus, being filled with the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, Luke 4:1

The number one way you will know that a person is filled with the Holy Spirit is when they come under the governance of the Holy Spirit.

Being led means yielding: if someone has not yielded, they cannot be led. You can not be governed by the Holy Spirit if you are not yet fully yielded to Him.

This must be your prayer and cry because the moment you come under the governance of the Holy Spirit, tears, failure and suffering will reduce in your life for there will be sufficient grace for you to fulfil destiny effortlessly. (Jeremiah 10:23)

Psalms 51:17 The sacrifices of God [are] a broken spirit, A broken and a contrite heart— These, O God, You will not despise.

The Lord guides and directs a heart that is yielded to Him. The Christian life is easy when you learn the secret of yielding to the Holy Spirit effortlessly (Zechariah 4:6).

No matter the pressures of life, do not be like the crowd that hung around Jesus just for healing, deliverance and miracles, go for the relationship and fellowship like the twelve disciples who stayed with Him (John 6:68)
