KEYS TO ACCURATE LIVING: Speaking Right

Jul 24, 2025

Ephesians 5:15-16 (AMPC)

Accurate living is key to redeeming time. There are many factors that influence our accuracy, and one of them is ‘speaking right’.

After knowing your purpose, the next important thing is to know how to speak right, just as Jesus demonstrated the power of words.

John 6:63 …The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life.

You must be careful with the things you say, because you can design your future by simply aligning your words with the Word of God. (Hebrews 11:3)

Words are not a mere combination of letters, but vehicles of transportation in the Spirit, that weigh heavily on your destiny. How are you speaking? If you want to see life, you must begin to speak accurately.

Proverbs 18:21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit.

Words are spirit and have power. You can therefore choose to be a communicator of life or death. Your words go ahead of you creating a path and redefining your future.

James 3:4-5 Look also at ships: although they are so large and are driven by fierce winds, they are turned by a very small rudder wherever the pilot desires. Even so the tongue is a little member and boasts great things.

Your tongue is like a rudder; you’re the pilot. Your words determine the direction of your life. Words are seeds, and you reap what you consistently speak. (Galatians 6:7)

Are you planting seeds of life or death? It is unfortunate that many people pray right but speak wrong after the prayers, hence nullifying everything they prayed for. This is why many people pray, but very few have results.

You must know that whether you speak absent-mindedly or mean it, everything that comes out of your mouth is a seed that either aids or destroys your purpose, life or destiny. For this reason, we must sustain speaking right to live accurately. (Matthew 12:36, James 3:5-6)

Numbers 14:28 Say to them, “As I live,’ says the LORD, “just as you have spoken in My hearing, so I will do to you.

In Genesis, Jesus gave us the pattern in creation as He rearranged the world with words, so can we.

We shouldn’t be like the children of Israel who denied themselves entry to the Promised Land by their speaking; every time they opened their lips, they spoke of death, and they all died in the wilderness, except their children who were 20 years and below.

I pray that the Lord will help us to speak correctly. You can redeem your wasted years if you speak right. Don’t only pray right, speak and think right. (Luke 6:45)

When the Lord called Jeremiah (Jeremiah 1:10), He didn’t give him an army. Instead, He reached out and touched his lips, saying, “Behold, I have put My Word in your mouth. You will uproot, destroy, overthrow, build, and plant.“

This shows that our words have the power to build, destroy or overthrow. The choice is ours. We should be careful not to speak of things we don’t want to see. Instead, let’s speak about what we want to see in our careers, children, families and friendships as we observe what God will do in our lives.
