The divine laws that God gave Moses were summarized into two basic commandments: Loving the Lord and loving our neighbours as we love ourselves. (Matthew 22:38-40). Our wisdom, shining, excellence and glory are found in these two commandments; these are the fulfilment of the divine laws.
Deuteronomy 4:6 Therefore be careful to observe them; for this is your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the peoples who will hear all these statutes, and say, “Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people.’
Jesus also said, “If you love Me, keep My commandments”… John 14:15
The world celebrates intelligence but our wisdom is in obeying God’s instructions. That is why we must learn to take God’s Word as the final authority in our lives.
God is so wise that when He created man, He didn’t write the divine laws in a book for us to read but installed them in our hearts. (Hebrews 8:10.) However, when man fell, he lost his spiritual touch and what had been installed within him no longer worked.
When man was forgiven, God took away the heart that the devil had corrupted and the Holy Spirit took residence so that He could take away the things in our souls that don’t belong to God and install what is of God. Ezekiel 36:26-27
John 17:26 AMP and I have made Your name known to them, and will continue to make it known, so that the love with which You have loved Me may be in them [overwhelming their heart], and I [may be] in them.”
The Lord is placing a demand on us to increase our capacity to love but the problem is that there is so much within us; that has taken up the space limiting the capacity for the Holy Spirit to impart in us what He has come with.
2 Kings 4:1-6
The widow had oil but there was no space for it to multiply. This explains why Elisha requested her to borrow empty vessels to get space for an increase.
That is the same thing that happens with the Holy Spirit when He moves into our lives; God will instruct us to abandon certain things to create room in our hearts for the Holy Spirit to increase our capacity to love.
2 Corinthians 13:14 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen.
We must come into fellowship with the Holy Spirit for us to be able to experience the grace of our Lord and the love of God. That is how we increase our capacity to love: the more the Holy Spirit takes over, the more loving we become because love is God’s nature.
God is still in the business of making man. When we make room for Him, He continues to reveal Himself to us and transform us until we become like Him. 1 John 3:2
Ephesians 3:17-19… [19] [That you may really come] to know [practically, through experience for yourselves] the love of Christ, which far surpasses mere knowledge [without experience]; that you may be filled [through all your being] unto all the fullness of God [may have the richest measure of the divine Presence, and become a body wholly filled and flooded with God Himself]! (AMPC)
The degree to which God manifests His presence depends on the degree to which His love fills our hearts. Therefore, let us cease asking for power but rather ask for His love to flood our hearts; He is love and only reveals Himself in the atmosphere of love.
