Job 36:11 If they obey and serve Him, they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures.
The word prosperity does not only mean financial wealth — that’s just one part of it. Many people are wealthy but not truly prosperous. This is because prosperity is an all-round state of well-being where nothing is broken and nothing is missing.
Scripture says in 3 John 1:2: Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers. Apostle John addresses believers whose spirits have already prospered through salvation. However, there’s also a need for prosperity in the soul and in the body.
You need to be healthy and have resources to sustain your body. Therefore, because man is a tripartite being, when we talk about prosperity, we mean spiritual, soulish, and physical prosperity. The price Jesus paid on the cross was meant to impact all three dimensions of your life.
How do we walk in this ‘all-round prosperity’?
When we walk in obedience to the instructions God has given in His Word, then we can walk in prosperity. (Deuteronomy 30:14–15, 1 Kings 2:3).
In 1 Chronicles 29:11-12, King Solomon reminds us that the power to make one wealthy or prosperous comes from the Lord. You don’t have to struggle endlessly for it — prosperity flows from obedience and alignment with His Word. Keep His statutes and let His Word dwell richly in your heart.
There is no hidden secret to prosperity — the answer is simple: pursue God with all your heart. Let Him be your number one priority, the reason behind everything you do, and watch what He will do in your life. He will ensure that everything you need to fulfil destiny comes your way (Job 36:11).
The number one form of prosperity is spiritual prosperity. That’s why the Lord calls us to stay strong in prayer and in the Word. From spiritual prosperity flows soul prosperity — the transformation of the mind — and from there comes body prosperity.
If something is not working in your life, the issue is never with God’s Word. The wise thing to do is to humbly ask Him, “Father, what am I not doing right?” God is no respecter of persons. He is rich unto all who call upon Him. Pick yourself up and seek His face — your prosperity is in Him.
Prayer:
Lord, I know Your Word is greater than my experience. If my life is not aligned with what Your Word says, show me what I am not doing right. Amen.
