The practices in living a victorious Christian life will give you strength and keep you going. Life is a paradox: it may be unfair, but God is good. This is the difference between you and a man who does not know God.
You must develop a God-conscious lifestyle; even in the valley, the Lord is there. The strength of a believer is derived from the awareness that ‘God is with me,’ because He promised never to leave you nor forsake you.
But Where Does Our True Strength Come From?
Confessing the Word
Romans 10:9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
Confession is very important, and the Lord emphasises meditation. When you speak audibly, it affects your mind. You may not know it, but it does, and the more you do it, your thoughts and imagination begin to align with the words you say.
That is why there is no possession without confession; confession will bring what you believe to reality.
Numbers 14:28 Say to them, ‘As I live,’ says the Lord, ‘just as you have spoken in My hearing, so I will do to you:
God primarily gave us a mouth to speak. This is the law of life; as you speak, so shall it be unto you. For this reason, you must watch what you say, especially when angry, because when words go out of your mouth, they will either have a positive or negative impact.
Therefore, if you do not like what you see (the harvest), change the seed. Some people pray, but what comes out of their mouth nullifies the prayer.
You must understand that your words to ‘you’ are more powerful than a Pastor’s words over ‘you’ because the authority you carry over yourself is more powerful than that of the man of God over you.
Planting the Word in our hearts
Romans 10:8 But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we preach):
The first assignment is not speaking to circumstances but to yourself; then take the word from your mouth and plant it in your heart.
What are you planting in your heart? There has to be something in your heart you are planting. Therefore, speak to yourself. This is the secret of meditation. (Joshua 1:8)
Sometimes we blame the devil, yet he is innocent; we curse ourselves by the way we speak about ourselves. Whatever you want in this life, the word is near you. You cannot harvest what you did not plant. Be conscious of what you say.
Walking in humility
Matthew 11:29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
You must walk in humility because God resists the proud. Let men resist and fight you; there is hope, but if God does, there is no hope for you. Pride can limit what God can do in you and with you.
The first sin committed by the first creature was pride, which has robbed many people of God’s blessing and godly relationships.
Ask the Lord to deliver you from any trace of pride and every secret fault. Just as an earthquake exploits the fault lines of weakness and causes destruction, so it is when you allow pride to take residence in your life; you will fall apart. (Psams 19:12)
You must fight pride, and when the Lord sees you fighting it, the Holy Spirit will then help you. When you walk in humility, God will spray on you a perfume called favour. However, this is a choice we make every day.
Living a victorious life is being conscious of the presence of God, thus living above the trials, pain, and challenges. Not that they are not there, but you laugh through them because they all have expiry dates.
