The posture of your heart defines your effectiveness in prayer and not the words you say. The Bible gives us examples of men who invoked God’s help through prayer and He came through for them;
2 Chronicles 14:9-13 11-And Asa cried out to the LORD his God, and said, “LORD, it is nothing for You to help, whether with many or with those who have no power; help us, O LORD our God, for we rest on You, and in Your name we go against this multitude. O LORD, You are our God; do not let man prevail against You!”
Asa already knew that he was disadvantaged numerically. He could not stand against an army of a million people, so logically, there was no war there, but he came to his senses, remembered the God he served, and called on Him for help.
Jonathan rehearsed the same prayers in 1 Samuel 14:6-14
During that time, Israel had been stripped of weapons; only Jonathan and his father Saul had weapons, but Jonathan realized that if God did not help them, they would not win that battle in the normal conventional way.
That is the kind of heart you must have if you are to receive the help of God. You must know that you are done right from the start if God does not help you.
So, Prayer is simply an expression of what is in your heart. This is where you are no longer looking for what to pray for, but deep within your heart, you know that all you need is God’s help.
In this kingdom, if you know your God, the number is not an issue but who is on your side and with you? One man, Jonathan, dared to believe in God and saved an entire nation.
In 2 Chronicles 20:2-22;
When the three nations came against King Jehoshaphat, he feared, and this fear drove him to proclaim a fast and seek the Lord.
He took himself out of the equation and introduced God right there, and as they worshipped, God created confusion in the camp of the enemy, and they killed each other. Learn to take yourself out of the equation and provoke God. (2 Chronicles 20:12-22)
Hebrews 4:14-16(AMPC)
Whatever confession you believe God for, hold onto that confession; if you need healing, He is the healer, you need deliverance, He is the deliverer.(Hebrews 3:1, Hebrews 10:23)
Jesus knows what it feels like to be human because He went through it all. Knowing this gives you comfort because there is nothing you are going through that He never went through.
Whatever pressure or trial you are feeling right now that tempts you to sin, be like Jesus, who endured it until He overcame it. (Hebrews 4:15)
We come before the throne of grace to receive mercy and grace. No matter what Satan brings at you, you can never lose if you walk with God and keep your grip on Him.
