John 1:1-5 [1] In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. [2] He was in the beginning with God. [3] All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. [4] In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. [5] And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.
Colossians 1:15-17 …[17] And He Himself existed before all things, and in Him all things consist (cohere, are held together). (AMP)
Psalms 36:9 For with thee is the fountain of life: in thy light shall we see light. (KJV)
From the above scriptures, we deduce that Jesus Christ is our light, He is the living Word, the fountain of life (from whom all life springs forth), the Creator of all things (visible or Invisible, powers and principalities, etc.), and all our blessings are in Him.
In reference to Psalms 36:9, there are two types of light: Christ’s light and our light, which is the knowledge and understanding that God imparts to us when we come into His light.
True knowledge of who we are is a result of God searching us and not what people tell us about ourselves. That is the only way we can be accurate about ourselves—when God searches us. (Psalms 139:23-24, Jeremiah 17:9-10)
2 Kings 8:9-15
Hazael went to inquire of Elisha whether the King would recover from the disease. When the man of God entered the realm of God’s light, he saw the evil that would become of Hazael after being lifted to the position of kingship following the King’s death. Hazael didn’t wait for the king to die; he assassinated him and ended up doing the exact evil that the man of God had seen about him.
How Do We See Our Light In God’s Light?
Psalms 119:130 The entrance of Your words gives light; It gives understanding to the simple.
God’s word illuminates our hearts, making our intents bare before us and also imparts knowledge and understanding concerning the matters that are before us.
The true audit of who we are is not by us but God, and when His light comes, it guides and leads us in the way ordained by God, helping us to live a quality life.
Let us look at some examples of the Bible personalities whose lives were transformed when they were illuminated by the Light:
Genesis 15
Though Abraham was convinced that he couldn’t have a child because of his age, there was an impartation of knowledge that was brought to him that illuminated him and completely changed his mindset to the extent that he chose to believe that he could bear a child even when it was against hope. (Romans 4:17-18)
Isaiah 6
Isaiah came to know that he was a man of unclean lips because of light. He ordered his life according to the light that he had received, and he was completely changed.
Luke 22:61-62
Jesus projected light for Peter to see what was in him; it was then that Peter realised the mess that he had put himself into.
Acts 9:3-5
What Saul was doing wasn’t meant for him; when light came to his life, he was completely transformed.
When people and circumstances bring you down, ask for light because the moment it comes, it gives you the exact interpretation of who you are and not what others say about you, causing you to shine brighter and brighter, hence attracting Kings. (Psalms 43:3, Isaiah 60:3)
Life is spiritual, and destinies can be manipulated; all we need is Light-Jesus Christ, to know what God has ordained for us.
