John 7:37 On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, “if anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink.”

Are you hungry? Are you thirsty?

Watch and pay attention to your desire because it will determine your strength and perseverance in prayer.

The zeal and fire that infuses your prayer life is your desire. It is the degree of passion, hunger, and thirst you have that shows how desperately you need something!.

We are not talking about a hopeless desperation but one that places a demand!.

Jacob was left alone, and there wrestled a man with him until the breaking of the day…Genesis 32:24

Jacob wrestled with God until He blessed him.
This is a kind of prayer that comes from a place of discontentment and dissatisfaction.

Everyone who was in distress, everyone who was in debt, and everyone who was discontented gathered to David. So he became captain over them….1Sam 22:2

Distressed and discontented people are never satisfied. They are the kind that take over a generation because they always long for more!

Psalms 42:1 As the deer pants for the water brooks, so my soul for you, O God.

Psalms 63:1….O, God, you are my God; early will I seek you; My soul thirsts for you; My soul longs for you; My flesh longs for you in a dry and thirsty land where there is no water.

They are always hungry and thirsty, looking for power, beauty, and glory in the house of the Lord!.

Psalms 122:1 I was glad when they said unto me, “let us go into the house of the Lord.”

Psalms 84:10 for one day in your courts is better than a thousand. I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of God than dwell in the tents of the wickedness.

Brothers and sisters, there is more! That is why we pray and fast the way we do. It is one of the avenues God has availed to the church.

It is your desire that pushes you for the extra mile!.

Luke 7:37-38 And behold, a woman who in the city who was a sinner, when she knew Jesus sat at the table in the Pharisee’s house, brought an alabaster flask of fragrant oil, and stood at his feet behind him weeping; and she began to wash his feet with her tears, and wiped them with the hair of her head, and she kissed his feet and anointed them with the fragrant oil.

When you are hungry and thirsty enough, you will always change the atmosphere and scent of the place!.

James 5:16 The effective fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.

Firery prayers are irresistible. They always activate angels and go straight to the throne of grace.

We are changing destiny and how we live on our knees. It is how we overcome, prevail, and carry on in our careers!.

There is a place where human strength ends, where man fails and God begins. At the altar, we admit and call upon the Lord to take over!.

Prayer is not for the strong, it’s for the weak and it always comes from a place of hunger, thirst, and the desperation of the heart!.
