While there is nothing wrong with prayer and supplication, there is a place in God where worship will touch Him in a way that prayer and supplication don’t.

One of the aspects of worship is a lifestyle of giving. This is the reason why giving is more blessed than receiving because it is an act of worship.

Acts 20:35 I have shown you in every way, by laboring like this, that you must support the weak. And remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’

Every time people receive, thanksgiving is evoked. That is why it is more blessed to give than to receive.

Giving is not only limited to finances, it could be words of encouragement, help, etcetera. The most important thing is to keep your heart and mind in a giving mentality. Ask yourself daily; ‘what can I do to be a blessing to someone else?’

Philippians 4:18-19 Indeed I have all and abound. I am full, having received from Epaphroditus the things [sent] from you, a sweet-smelling aroma, an acceptable sacrifice, well pleasing to God.

While there is an incense of intercession and of prayer, there is also an incense of worship. I beg us not to live our lives on the receiving but the giving end as we walk this journey of faith.

Genesis 12:2, The reason why God told Abraham, “I will bless you and make you a blessing”, is because when God blesses you, you become a channel for His blessing.

For example, if you are only able to breathe in, you will eventually die because you must breathe in and out if you are to live. The same applies to giving, when you give, you receive. Notice that it doesn’t begin with receiving but giving.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

When God wants to get anything, He starts it. Let us follow the pattern of our Heavenly Father by living on the giving end of everything. Then, we will live a good life.

Do you know that giving evokes more joy in one’s heart than receiving? This is because every time you give, your heart is filled with unspeakable joy.

When you develop a lifestyle of giving, it will enrich your prayer life, walk of faith and spirituality. It will deepen you and make you an important vessel in the hand of God. The reason why people who are always on the receiving end are very small in life is because God can hardly use them to bless anyone.

Luke 6:38(KJV) Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.

The beautiful thing about giving is that it releases God into action; one act of giving can provoke the help of ten people to come into your life. Therefore, if you are to make a choice, stay in the giving not the receiving lane.

Though there is nothing wrong with receiving, develop a lifestyle of giving like our Father in heaven. Giving will enlarge your heart and hands, making you such a blessing in the hand of the Lord.

Romans 12:20 Therefore] [” If your enemy is hungry, feed him;] [If he is thirsty, give him a drink;] [For in so doing you will heap coals of fire on his head.”]

Giving is a weapon we use to defeat and paralyze the enemy. As we follow the instructions of giving in our lives, we will be amazed at what God will accomplish in us. Many of the things we have on our prayer lists will disappear with giving.

Remember that your Father is a giver and as a son, you should be too. Giving opens up your heart to enjoy your fellowship with the Master more because you will be just like Him.

To make this truth about giving become a reality in your life, start now and as you grow in giving, you will watch how God will touch men everywhere to be a blessing to you.
