2 Corinthians 13:5 Examine yourselves [as to] whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Do you not know yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?—unless indeed you are disqualified.

In this month of May, the Lord is challenging each one of us to check ourselves and see if we are still running with the same passion that we once had: Is the fire and drive still there? (Revelation 2:4).

Psalms 122:1 I was glad when they said to me, “Let us go into the house of the LORD.”

What comes into your heart when it’s time for you to go to the house of the Lord?

Is there a gladness that fills you or do you just drag your feet to the place of fellowship? All these are indicators of the state of your heart.

The reason why we come to the house of the Lord is to experience God among the fellowship of the brethren.

Hebrews 10:25 not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as [is] the manner of some, but exhorting [one another,] and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.

When we come together as the body of Christ, the results are different from when you are alone because everyone carries a different grace so when together in unity the spiritual results are magnified.

When satan wants to trap a believer, he isolates them, so absconding from the assembly of the brethren is a setup for the greatest fall you will ever know.

No matter what happens to you in church whether positive or negative should never impact your fellowship moments with God. Some people get discouraged because of what they encounter while in church.

Acts 2:46-47 So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart, praising God and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved.

Anything that tells you “People are bad”, or encourages you not to go to church is not the voice of God but self. This is what satan later jumps on to manipulate and destroy you.

God can never change our lives while in isolation but it is while in the assembly of the brethren that transformation takes place within our lives.

1 John 4:20 If someone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen?

You cannot love God and hate people: the more spiritual you are, the more relatable with people you should be.

Psalms 16:11 You will show me the path of life; In Your presence [is] fullness of joy; At Your right hand [are] pleasures forevermore.

There is healing in the presence of the Lord and the gathering of the brethren should be the place of the greatest manifestation of God’s power.

No matter what a fellow brother did to you, come back to the presence of God this month.

Ephesians 4:16 from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love.

Because of the grace that you carry, when you stay away from church you cheat both yourself and the entire body of Christ.

Romans 12:5 so we, [being] many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another.

Much as we desire to enter into a deep fellowship with God, it is reflected in how we fellowship with men. You cannot say you love God and you do not love the brethren: that is a contrast.

Read Luke 15:4-7

It is always safer for the sheep to stay within the sheepfold than out there. So, it’s better for a saint to remain in fellowship with the brethren than out there alone.

Walking in fellowship with the brethren will result in a greater manifestation of His blessing.

Return to church, into the fellowship of brethren. There is nothing under the sun that is as good as worshipping and praying together with fellow brethren.
