You need to migrate from having an ordinary and casual relationship with God to a place where He can trust you with His agenda.

God created you for Himself, you ought to live for Him.

Acts 17:27 (KJV) That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after Him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us:

There is an appetite, thirst and hunger for God that makes everything in this life lose meaning. You cannot fake it; it is only administered in your heart by the Holy Spirit.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

God gave His only son because He loved and longed for you.

Genesis 3:8 And they heard the sound of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and Adam and his wife hid from the presence of the LORD God among the trees of the garden.

There was no other creature on earth He could fellowship with but man because he is the only creation made in His likeness (Genesis 1:26-27).

Before man existed, fellowship was between the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit but they agreed to introduce man into it.

For you to enjoy this fellowship, you must hunger and be intentional about it.

So, because of this love for God, there are lots of adjustments you will have to make for Him.

Matthew 9:14-15 Then the disciples of John came to Him, saying, “Why do we and the Pharisees fast often, but Your disciples do not fast?” And Jesus said to them, “Can the bridegroom’s friends mourn as long as the bridegroom is with them? But the days will come when the bridegroom will be taken away from them, and then they will fast.

Jesus was saying, the reason why we fast and pray is because we desire to experience His tangible presence the same way we would if He were here on earth physically with us.

Philippians 3:12-14 Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me…

Though there are so many things that will oppose you, you must be intentional to pursue and lay hold of what Jesus laid hold for you.

We have all been known by God by grace but to know Him, you must be intentional in your fellowship with Him.

That place of fellowship is the richest place to be and the only place where you will find true joy and satisfaction. (1 John 1:3-4)

Fellowship with God was the greatest treasure that Adam and Eve lost; God still loved them even in their rebellion but He could no longer have fellowship with them (Genesis 3:8-9, 21).

There is nothing you can give to God; everything belongs to Him (Haggai 2:8). All God is looking for is that whatever you do for Him, be it in service, giving, prayer or praise, etc, should spring from a place of love and fellowship with Him but not duty.

That made men like David stand out; He did all for God with all his heart, withholding nothing. (Acts 13:22)

Psalms 103:7 He made known His ways to Moses, His acts to the children of Israel.

God can only reveal His ways to you when you spend time with Him in fellowship.

Read Mark 3:13-14

Jesus had the multitudes but He appointed the twelve. He loved all the twelve but related with all of them differently; Of the twelve He had three confidants and of the three He had one who was closest to Him. He had a much closer relationship with John than with the rest.

John 13:23-26

[23]Now there was leaning on Jesus’ bosom one of His disciples, whom Jesus loved. [24] Simon Peter therefore motioned to him to ask who it was of whom He spoke. [25] Then, leaning back on Jesus’ breast, he said to Him, “Lord, who is it?” [26] Jesus answered, “It is he to whom I shall give a piece of bread when I have dipped it. ”…

John’s relationship with the Lord stood out and even the disciples recognized it. That means that there is something that John did that the rest of the disciples did not do. Peter had to motion to John to ask the Lord who would betray Him and the answer was given to only John. Why didn’t Peter ask the Lord?

Many of us have reduced our relationship with the Lord to a third party and yet there is something that we can do to shift our relationship with Him to a higher level.

Psalm 42:1 As the deer pants for the water brooks, So pants my soul for You, O God.

There is a price that you have to pay for God to give you information that He withholds from others. It has nothing to do with the things of this world but to endeavour to feel after Him.

Do you feel after Jesus? Do not cry to God for the things of this world. He is looking for men and women that He can trust and share His heart with: He yearns for fellowship with Him because that is the main reason, He created man (James 4:5).
