1 Peter 2:11 Beloved, I beg you as sojourners and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts which war against the soul,

The flesh lures the soul in the wrong direction and this is the greatest battle of every believer.

1 John 2:16 For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—…

These three forces hinder believers from stepping into their allocated places in life.

The greatest enemy of a believer is not the devil but the SELF/ I/ ME. The devil takes advantage of the weaknesses we have in flesh.

Luke 9:23 “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me.

It’s very difficult for the Kingdom of God and the Holy Spirit to find manifestation into your life unless you crucify to death the SELF.

John 3:30 He must increase, but I must decrease.

The “I” represents SELF . Not only must the self decrease but also die for Jesus to increase and find expression and manifestation into your life.

Matthew 26:40-41 Then He came to the disciples and found them sleeping, and said to Peter, “What! Could you not watch with Me one hour? Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”

However much the spirit wanted to pray, the flesh (self) took dominion and hindered the spirit.

When we don’t crucify the flesh with the help of the Holy Spirit, all the good intentions of the Father in our spirit will always be aborted.

The spirit will continually be trapped and unfruitful until the government of God takes dominion over a man’s soul.

1 Corinthians 15:31 I affirm, by the boasting in you which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily.

Unless a seed falls and dies, it will never resurrect. Death must occur for new life to come forth.

New life in your spirit can never find outward expression unless there is death to self. That’s why you need to die daily to the desires of self.

3 John 1:2 Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.

The prosperity and health of a believer are tied in his soul. The soul of a man holds the key to the expression of all that Christ has placed in his spirit.

That’s why dying to self on the cross becomes a daily experience. It causes everything that has been placed in your spirit to become alive in your soul because the soul is the entry /exit point of the spirit to the natural.

Romans 12:2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, …

The spirit can never find an outflow into the outside until your mind is transformed. This explains the carnality and weakness in the body of Christ.

Genesis 25:31-33 But Jacob said, “Sell me your birthright as of this day.” And Esau said, “Look, I am about to die; so what is this birthright to me?” Then Jacob said, “Swear to me as of this day.” So he swore to him and sold his birthright to Jacob.

Esau sold his position and destiny away because he could not control his appetite. He bowed to the desire of the flesh and lost his place as the firstborn.

Many believers have compromised their places in the kingdom because they pay attention to the desires of the flesh (self) and end up giving away their birthrights.

Any desire that contradicts the place and will of God should be crucified at the cross that Jesus may increase.

May the Holy Spirit help to bring our souls and bodies under the government of God that the super dimension of heaven may find expression into our lives, career, marriage, business, etc.
