CONSECRATION – THE FEAR OF GOD!

Aug 18, 2021

John 13:5,8-10 After that, He poured water into a basin and began to wash the disciples’ feet, and to wipe them with the towel with which He was girded. Peter said to Him, “You shall never wash my feet!” Jesus answered him, “If I do not wash you, you have no part with Me.” Simon Peter said to Him, “Lord, not my feet only, but also my hands and my head!” Jesus said to him, “He who is bathed needs only to wash his feet, but is completely clean;…”

A life of consecration is what will lift us to greater levels of authority.

The biggest challenge in the body of Christ today is that we have come to a place where the Spirit of reverence and fear of God is lacking in the life of so many believers.

We have taken some of these doctrines to the extreme and this could be the reason why our lives don’t carry the weight of glory.

Church meetings and gatherings don’t attract the presence of God because the fear of God that causes us to live in reverence and honor is no longer there.

Isaiah 47:4 As for our Redeemer, the Lord of hosts is His name, THE HOLY ONE of Israel.

“HOLY” is one of the names of God. It means consecration and separation for God. This is what the church has been called to do.

Psalms 51:17 A broken and a contrite heart— These, O God, You will not despise.

A life of brokenness and contrition!!

A life that does not live in fear of judgment, reverence or honor birthed out of love for Him who called us.

Now it came to pass after these things that God tested Abraham, and said to him, “Abraham!” And he said, “Here I am.” Then He said, “Take now your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you.” So Abraham rose early in the morning and saddled his donkey, and took two of his young men with him, and Isaac his son; and he split the wood for the burnt offering, and arose and went to the place of which God had told him.
But the angel of the Lord called to him from heaven and said, “Abraham, Abraham!” “Do not lay your hand on the lad, or do anything to him; for NOW I KNOW THAT YOU FEAR GOD since you have not withheld your son, your only son, from Me.” Genesis 22:1-3, 11-12.

Abraham was moved by the fear of God to offer Isaac!.

And it came to pass after these things that his master’s wife cast longing eyes on Joseph, and she said, “Lie with me.” But he refused and said to his master’s wife, “Look, my master does not know what is with me in the house, and he has committed all that he has to my hand. There is no one greater in this house than I, nor has he kept back anything from me but you, because you are his wife. HOW CAN I DO THIS GREAT WICKEDNESS, AND SIN AGAINST GOD?”…Genesis 39:7-9.

It’s the fear of God that kept Joseph from the lust of Potiphar’s wife.

Jeremiah 6:16 Thus says the Lord: “Stand in the ways and see, And ask for the old paths, where the good way is, And walk in it; Then you will find rest for your souls.

The reverence and fear of God, not consequences or hell, held our fathers in faith from doing certain evil things.

The next move and level of manifestation of the glory of God we are longing for demands a life of consecration, separation, honor, reverence, and respect for God.

Even spiritual practices for example prayer, worship, fasting, giving should not be birthed from a place of religion but rather reverence, honor, and fear of God if we want to experience His awesome glory.

He must increase, but I must decrease. John 3:30.

May the Holy Spirit move upon our hearts, that when people run to us in search of solutions, they will find Jesus and not a display of talents and gifts.

Now a certain woman had a flow of blood for twelve years, and had suffered many things from many physicians. She had spent all that she had and was no better, but rather grew worse….Mark 5:25-26.

Many people have suffered at the hands of men of God. Many believers are in bondage because there is no longer any fear of God in church yet the church is the place meant to help bring people to liberty.

As you pray along with this audio, may the Holy Spirit bring back the fear of God across the body of Christ in Jesus’s Mighty name!.

STAY BLESSED AND HIGHLY FAVORED, WE LOVE YOU. PASTOR BEN OCHOLA.
