Joshua 3.5 And Joshua said to the people, “Sanctify yourselves, for tomorrow the LORD will do wonders among you.”

Whenever God wants to do something wonderful with you, He will require you to consecrate or sanctify yourself (Separate yourself unto God).

God has been persistently speaking to us as a ministry regarding consecration but there are individual consecrations He requires each one of us to honour. (1 Kings 13.14-24)

God will separate you from many things, places, and people depending on what He wants to do with you.

John 14:30 (AMPC) I will not talk with you much more, for the prince (evil genius, ruler) of the world is coming. And he has no claim on Me. [He has nothing in common with Me; there is nothing in Me that belongs to him, and he has no power over Me.]

No matter how much noise Satan made, he had nothing on Jesus so he could not take advantage of Him. Satan’s number one weapon against us is sin. For this reason, Jesus demands us to stay away from things that belong to the devil; not for His good, but for our good.

Read Romans 7:18-25, 8:1-2

The things of God are desired in the inward man (spirit) whereas the law of sin operates in the flesh. The key to winning the battle against sin and the flesh is having a ‘ set mind’ against sin. (Romans 7:25)

If you can subject your mind, then the body will follow. That is why the call to a believer is to be transformed by the renewal of the mind (Romans 12:2).

2 Timothy 2:20-21 [20]But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay, some for honor and some for dishonor.      [21]Therefore if anyone cleanses himself from the latter, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified and useful for the Master, prepared for every good work.

Some people are vessels of dishonour. If we want to see the hand of God manifesting in our lives, we must cleanse ourselves from the things God has been demanding of us so that we can become vessels of honour in his house.

What is that thing the Holy Spirit has been speaking to you about but you’re still holding onto? The little foxes (gossip, telling lies, etc.) always spoil the vine (Song of Songs 2:15). These can’t be removed by pulling down or binding but by repenting and separation (Walking away from these people, environments and actions).

Hebrews 12:2-4 [2] looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. [3] For consider Him who endured such hostility from sinners against Himself, lest you become weary and discouraged in your souls. [4] You have not yet resisted to bloodshed, striving against sin.

Whenever you are fighting sin, see how Jesus fought because He is our model and we are in Him. He was tempted like we are but He endured and was found without sin. He sympathizes with our weaknesses because, in moments of weakness, He avails us with well-timed grace to make sure we rise above what we are fighting. You don’t need to depend on yourself but on Him. (Hebrews 4.15-16 AMPC).

Romans 8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.

The day you welcomed the Holy Spirit in your life, a new law (the law of the Spirit of Life which convicts and protects) now operates in you:  The danger is when you continue to break the law and insist on the old way, then you’ll become insensitive.

1 Corinthians 6:8-12

You are a new creation and have been washed; therefore, whatever you engage in must support the new life that you have entered into. Before engaging in anything, ask yourself whether it makes you a better Christian.

Make up your mind not to live a life of sin, wrestle against it. You have what it takes (the grace) to handle and overcome temptation (1 Corinthians 10:13, Heb 12:4).

There are certain things you do not need the voice of God, but let your integrity (Your set mind against sin) guide you. (Psalms 41:12).
