Psalms 11:3 If the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?
It is difficult for the righteous to be effective when the foundation is messed up.
We are here to correct the foundations because sometimes our lives are hardened not because of anything we’ve done, but because of certain things that took place in history.
The beautiful thing is that Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever; meaning He can go into your past and correct it, come into your present and realign it, and make known to you the future.
The fact that He was, He is and is to come gives us confidence, enough faith and belief that God can correct our foundation and past so that our lives in the present and the future can be as easy as He wants them to be.
One thing we have to know is that bloodlines carry inherited spiritual contracts. Some of the contracts were entered into by our ancestors seeking favours for children, wealth, marriages, etc., and made explicit agreements in exchange.
However, all contracts come with conditions, and if not fulfilled, negative repercussions will begin to take effect.
Genesis 4:9-10
Cain thought there was no witness when he killed his brother. He was shocked when God told him, “…The voice of your brother’s blood cries out to Me from the ground.” Genesis 4:10
Satan will sometimes make you think you are innocent, but in case of any ‘blood shed’, if someone doesn’t stand up and address, annul and revoke those covenants, they will continue to impact a generation.
Abraham married into a family that had a curse of barrenness; Sarah, Rebecca, Rachel and Leah were all barren, and the men of God who married into their family paid the price for it—it was not until they rose that God helped them.
Curses are real; they move through our bloodlines. The people in the past ignorantly sought many things, but you, to whom light has come, can rise, bring a legal end to that contract and begin a new generation.
Why Does the Devil Attack Us? (Things that the devil uses)
1.Ignorance
2.Sin
Zechariah 3:1-3
Satan was accusing the high priest because he was living in sin. If Satan is to fight you, he must find something that he can use.
That is why Jesus says, “I will no longer talk much with you, for the ruler of this world is coming, and he has nothing in Me. John 14:30
Satan will have a claim and legal right over you if you have something in common with him. That is why living a repentant and righteous life is important, because it removes anything the enemy can use against you.
Take another example of David in 1 Chronicles 21: he lived a life that Satan had nothing to use against him. As a result, he stirred him up to go against the Lord’s instruction by counting all the people of Israel. Satan caused David to sin so that he might have a legal right to attack him.
3. Inherited covenants.
Legal grounds through which we can bring to an end Satan’s attacks on our lives.
A. The blood of Jesus
One of the pieces of evidence we present to the court of heaven while dealing with Satan is the blood of Jesus. It is the primary evidence you use for Satan to take his hands off you.
What did and does the blood of Jesus do?
1. Paid the price for your sins (Colossians 2:14 NLT, Hebrews 12:24, Hebrews 9:22 NLT)
2. It redeemed us (Galatians 3:13)
3. It ransomed us, bought us from every tradition. (1 Peter 1:19-19)
4. Relocated us (Colossians 1:13-14 NIV, TPT, GNT)
5. Through the blood of Jesus, we have been given authority over the powers of darkness. (1 John 4:4, 1 John 2:14, Luke 10:19, Revelation 12:11)
B. Our willpower
We must exercise our willpower because it is God’s gift to everyone. But this is your choice to make, just as Joshua called the elders and asked them to choose for themselves whom they would serve. Jesus doesn’t force Himself; you must exercise your willpower by welcoming Him. (Joshua 24:15, Revelation 3:20)
