Acts 10:36–38 – “How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.”

When you read this scripture, the first question that comes to mind is: Why would God anoint Jesus, yet He was already born of the Spirit?

The reason is simple: God never sends anyone without first releasing resources and making an investment in their life. Even Jesus, who was conceived by the Spirit, needed the anointing of the Spirit to fulfil His divine mandate.

Though Jesus was already a product of the Spirit, He grew in stature, wisdom, and favour with God and man, becoming one who could confront anything. But when the time came for His ministry to begin, a fresh enforcement of the Spirit had to rest upon Him. This anointing was not for identity—it was for work.

Jesus’ growth was different from ours. He began in the Spirit and the soul, and at just twelve years old, He was already reasoning with the Pharisees.

We too, must pay the price if we are to walk closely with God. Human wisdom alone cannot defeat Satan; only that which is born of God gives us the power to overcome.

Mastering spirituality takes time. That is why prayer and the Word must remain central in our lives. These are not only for preachers, but for anyone who desires to walk in spiritual power and influence on the earth.

Young people, let us hunger for the anointing. Let us seek the Holy Ghost and His power, because what the world truly needs can only be found at the feet of Jesus.

Acts 13:22 And when He had removed him, He raised up for them David as king, to whom also He gave testimony and said, “I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after My own heart, who will do all My will.’

God is looking for men and women who are after His own heart. Unfortunately, the majority of believers are not after the heart of God but His hand- what God can do for them.

What is your heart after in your pursuit of God? Is it just to have your desires met? There is nothing wrong with that, but there are dimensions you will never enter if you are not after the heart of God.

Isaiah 6:8 Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying: “Whom shall I send, And who will go for Us?” Then I said, “Here am I! Send me.”

God is asking, who shall go for us and present His agenda to humanity. However, many of us are driven by our own personal agendas yet Jesus states clearly that we should seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things(money, blessings) shall follow us. (Matthew 6:33)

God’s ways are the best if we carry on with perseverance and patience. Sadly, many of us are in a hurry, thus unable to handle the blessings we prayed for.

When you begin to focus on the things of this world, you will become weary but a man or woman who goes after God’s heart will lack nothing.

Matthew 11:28-29 28 Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

We need an attitude change in our pursuit of God. Time has come for us to ask the Holy Spirit to deliver us from self, the love of the world and give us the heart to do God’s bidding.

Matthew 6:9-10 9 In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. 10 Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven.

Everything you need is locked up in God’s will for your life. Pursuing God’s will is the source of fulfilment and satisfaction in this life. For our fulfilment is in being and looking like Him. (Genesis 1:27)

Let us stop misrepresenting Jesus and let our actions speak for us, glorifying our heavenly Father.
