BROKENESS IN PRAYER

Sep 27, 2023

Has God brought you to that place in your life where you see your inability and limitations?

Numbers 11:4-15…… [14] I am not able to bear all these people alone, because the burden [is] too heavy for me. [15]If You treat me like this, please kill me here and now if I have found favor in Your sight and do not let me see my wretchedness!”

Despite all the manifestations of the power and grace of God upon Moses’s life, he got to a place where he was so downcast, tired and desired to die.

We cannot bury our heads in the sand and pretend that we have it all together.

We must become real with ourselves: face and confront our shortcomings and inabilities to meet the demand that is being placed upon our lives for Him to manifest in our lives and churches. We cannot continue in these lies, pretense and showbiz otherwise the body of Christ will sink into a place of darkness.

Exodus 34:6-10 6 And the Lord passed before him and proclaimed, “The Lord, the Lord God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abounding in goodness and truth, 7 keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, by no means clearing the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children and the children’s children to the third and the fourth generation.[10] And He said: “Behold, I make a covenant. Before all your people I will do marvels such as have not been done in all the earth, nor in any nation; and all the people among whom you [are] shall see the work of the LORD. For it [is] an awesome thing that I will do with you.

God hasn’t changed, but are our hearts properly aligned in sincerity to be able to draw this dimension of God in our midst?

Whatever is happening around us is evidence that we need God to show up. David cried out to the Lord;

Psalms 42:3 My tears have been my food day and night, While they continually say to me, “Where [is] your God?”

We must arise in all honesty and sincerity and ask the Lord to help us because our generation asks, where is your God?

We need to encounter this God who will make us relevant to our generation.

Our prayer and seeking moments should be moments of brokenness and contrition of spirit where we come to a place of admission and glue ourselves to this God just like Ruth did to Naomi;

Ruth 1:16-17 But Ruth said:  ” Entreat me not to leave you, [Or to] turn back from following after you; For wherever you go, I will go; And wherever you lodge, I will lodge; Your people [shall be] my people, And your God, my God…

This is the kind of resolution we need to have within our souls. Let’s not be deceived by titles and the names people call us, God is waiting for us and He is up to the task.

The question is; Can we break down before the Master and tell Him: ‘Lord here we are, in ourselves, we are dead men, we neither have the wisdom nor the power.’

Let us get real before the Lord and ask Him to clothe us so that by the time we walk into our offices and homes, we have direction. The written Word must become the Living Word within our lives.

Jeremiah 29:13 And you will seek Me and find [Me,] when you search for Me with all your heart.

When you find God, everything in your life will be sorted; Let us throw away every form of pretense and hypocrisy that people have placed upon us and let us surrender to God and allow Him to be God, let us be broken before Him. Strip yourself of all the ornaments that people have placed on you. (Exodus 33:5)

The Holy Spirit is called the Spirit of reality, not falsehood; Our prayer altars must become a place where men break down before God and admit the need for His help. Don’t be satisfied with the little you have, there is much more in God!

2 Samuel 12:13 So David said to Nathan, “I have sinned against the LORD.” And Nathan said to David, “The LORD also has put away your sin; you shall not die.

I call on us to let our prayer moments be moments of brokenness and not showbiz before God. Express your longing, and desire for Him who can do all things (Philippians 4:13). Let this define our gatherings and congregating together.

 It is my heart’s cry that we align ourselves to go deeper in seeking God and draw our generation to the feet of the Master.

STAY BLESSED AND HIGHLY FAVORED, WE LOVE YOU.
