ALL AUTHORITY HAS BEEN GIVEN TO US

Jan 5, 2026

It is expedient that we know and understand that our authority is rooted in what Jesus accomplished for us at Calvary; it is His blood that is the foundation of our authority. Therefore, we do not exercise authority presumptuously; we know where we stand. It is not about how we feel, but about knowledge and understanding.

Matthew 28:18 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.

John 20:21 So Jesus said to them again, “Peace to you! As the Father has sent Me, I also send you.”

After His resurrection, Jesus spoke to the disciples with the intention of preparing them for the assignment ahead, making it clear that His mission was purposeful and deliberate. His coming was not self-initiated but was the result of being sent by the Father, and because He was sent, He was fully equipped with all the resources required to fulfil the mandate on His life, with all of heaven backing Him in everything He did.

Consequently, the dominion He exercised over nature, sickness, and demons flowed from the authority and power given to Him by the Father, under whose authority He consistently functioned.

Acts 10:38 how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.

God sent Jesus, but was there to back Him up. Jesus was anointed by the Holy Ghost and power to do good; likewise, we are here to do good as the body of Christ.

Christ is the Head of the Church, seated in heaven, yet He also dwells in our hearts through the Holy Spirit. In the same way, while we are physically on earth, we are also seated with Him in heavenly places far above all dominions and principalities. Therefore, we do not pray from below, but from above. (Ephesians 2:6)

So, prayer and fasting are instruments that align you with the authority Jesus has given us. If you are out of alignment, then it will be very difficult for you to exercise authority.

Exodus 12:12, 5:1& 7:16, 2 Kings 2:12

Moses, under authority given by God, walks into the nation of Egypt armed with the Holy Spirit and power, and he told Pharaoh to let God’s people go so that they may serve Him. In nine months, he had brought the entire nation out of bandage.

Elijah was the guardian of Israel— when he was about to be taken by God, Elisha saw it and cried out, “My father, my father, the chariot of Israel and its horsemen!” When he died, he transferred the mantle to Elisha, and the same thing was said of him. (2 Kings 13:14)

What Moses, Elijah, Elisha and some prophets were to the nations is what the church is today to the nations. We are the chariots and army of Uganda, so we need not play the blame game; we must take our stand and pray for this nation because God holds us responsible.

Ephesians 6:13
In warfare, if you are to get results, you must be very strong-headed. You don’t let go; you must have staying power, dig your heel into the blood of the Lamb and do not move an inch, knowing that you are not on your own, you have been sent by your Father in heaven. (1 Kings 18:44, James 5:17)

Prayer
Heavenly Father, I thank You for the blood of Jesus, the cross, and the privilege You have given me. I stand not on my own account, but as a representative of heaven, exercising the authority and dominion You have given us to stand against all forces that rebel against the ways and will of God. Amen
