A PRAYER FOR RESTORATION OF THE FEAR OF THE LORD

Aug 11, 2026

Father, it is You whom we have come to worship. We adore and honor You. We enthrone You through our worship and praise. You are the Lord of this land; forever be exalted over this nation of Uganda and the entire world.

Like David said, “in the morning I will praise You; in the noon I will praise You; in the evening I will praise You.” From the rising of the sun to the going down of the same, may Your Name be praised forever, Lord.

As Your Word says: Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. (Hebrews 4:16) We come with boldness and confidence before the throne of grace to receive grace and find mercy to help in this time of need.

We come, Daddy, individually, as a body, and as a family before Your throne of grace. You are our life, and without You, we can do nothing. You alone are our God; we know no other but You. Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but it is Your Name we hold onto. We rest and lean on You, and seek You with all our hearts.

Psalm 123:2 Behold, as the eyes of servants look to the hand of their masters, As the eyes of a maid to the hand of her mistress, So our eyes look to the LORD our God, Until He has mercy on us.

Father, we humble ourselves before You by prayer and fasting, for You are our necessity, not a convenience. We seek You because You are our life, our rock, the Ancient of days, never-changing God and the One who gives meaning to all that we do and are.

You introduced Yourself to Your servant Moses as a God full of loving-kindness, goodness, mercy, and forgiveness of sins. Introduce Yourself to us in a way we have never experienced or heard before, so that the fear of the Lord may be restored to this generation.

Jeremiah 32:40 And I will make an everlasting covenant with them, that I will not turn away from doing them good; but I will put My fear in their hearts so that they will not depart from Me.

Lord, cause the fear of God to return to Your body. Let Your fear return to Your house and to Your church, so that Your people may never depart from Your ways. Restore us to the path of righteousness and lead us to Your ways.

Restore the fear of God in the house of the Lord, so that the Priests and Levites may walk again by Your precepts. Stir up a deep hunger for You and for Your Word as You said in the book of Amos: “I, the Lord, will bring upon the house of Israel not a hunger for food, but a hunger for the Word.”

From our Sunday school children to the men who stand behind the pulpit, restore a genuine hunger and desire for the Word. Cause us to live and walk according to Your Word, so that our righteousness may exceed that of the Pharisees.

John 6:63 It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life.

Father, we press a demand on the Holy Spirit and call upon Him to move again among the little ones, the teens, the youth and the entire congregation, just as You moved in the days of the beginning as the Holy Spirit hovered upon the face of the earth.

Father, there is no man beyond Your touch. Won’t You move again upon us? The hearts of kings are in Your hands, and there is nothing You cannot do. We bow our hearts before the throne of grace, that You may restore our hunger for Your Word.

The only good we have is that which You have given us, for no man can receive anything unless it is given to them from above.

Eternal Father, we set our hearts to receive a divine hunger, thirst, affection, and a deep longing for You, for Your Word, Your ways, and Your truth.

As John said, “We love You because You first loved us.” Father, You are the initiator. Infuse our souls with a genuine love for You. Let Your love overwhelm us and create in us a deep fear for You and Your Word. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

STAY BLESSED AND HIGHLY FAVOURED, WE LOVE YOU.

PASTOR BEN OCHOLA.
