Ephesians 2:7 that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.
Every generation has its own set of challenges, and heaven does not respond to them in the same way; it always outdoes itself. Therefore, as the body of Christ in this age, we cannot pray normally and ask God to give us what Elijah or Moses had. Yes, we are dealing with the same demonic powers, but the dimension of manifestation has changed.
Consequently, we need to raise our standards and increase our spiritual level, because what was once a miracle a hundred years ago is now being produced in laboratories by men.
Therefore, we cannot limit ourselves to the wonders of yesterday or remain tied to what God did in previous generations. We must press into God for the dimensions of His power and manifestation that are required for our generation.
John 14:12 “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father.
God responds to every generation based on the degree of hunger and the measure of light they have. We must arrive at a place in the Spirit where what we thirst for, hunger for, or desire is stronger, greater, deeper, and more intense than what our forefathers walked in.
Hunger is the currency people use to make transactions in the spiritual realm; in the arena of heaven. That is why, when the devil wants to rob a man or woman, he tampers with His/her hunger. (Isaiah 55:1)
God cannot take you beyond your hunger. The hungrier you are, the greater the manifestation and the outpour of the Lord that we will be able to witness through us.
Joel 2:23 …He will cause the rain to come down for you—the former rain, and the latter rain in the first month.
God knew very well that the age we are in would demand an amalgamation of then and now (ours); the mantles of yesteryears and the mantles of now. When these mantles come together, they will bring about a turnaround in people’s lives and transform the nations.
As a church, the Lord is here to outdo Himself through us. But this also depends on the degree of our expectation and our understanding of the times and seasons we are in.
We are living in an age where technology and knowledge have greatly increased. If we fail to recognise this and remain caught up in what was relevant yesterday, we will fail to win this nation back to Jesus effectively.
Exodus 16:19-21
The Lord told the children of Israel to wake up early in the morning and pick the mana because whenever the sun came out, the mana got rotten with worms. If we want to take hold of the mana, we need to seek God early.
Many are catching nothing because they have risen at a time when there is no mana. “Early” speaks of priority: it means making God our number one priority in everything we do. When we give God first place, we position ourselves to become an answer to the needs and challenges of our generation.
May the Lord give us wisdom to realign ourselves, discern the times, and pray appropriately.
